From Teletext:
Streets Of San Fran to return
Classic cop show The Streets Of San Francisco, which starred Michael Douglas, is being remade, writes Jonathan Donald.
A contemporary version of the 1970s series, which co-starred Karl Malden, is being made for the US network CBS.
Douglas played an energetic rookie, university educated Inspector Steve Keller, who was partnered with veteran copper Lt Mike Stone, played by Malden.
The spirit of the original will be preserved in the new series, which has yet to be cast.
Writer Sheldon Turner told The Hollywood Reporter: "The times are very similar - it was the Vietnam War in the 1970s and the Iraq War now.
"There is the same sort of tension between generations, and we wanted to carry that to the new series." A pilot episode is in production.

I never used to miss an episode of this.
It will be interesting to see if the new version is as successful as the original.

It was excellent and I liked Karl Malden. Was never really keen on Michael Douglas.
