From DSCoronation Street's Alexandra Boyd has claimed that she first heard she had been axed from the programme when she read it in a newspaper. The soap star said bosses hadn't contacted her about plans to end her stint on the show. "I was disappointed that the producers didn't have the courtesy to tell me first," Boyd told The Mirror. Boyd, who plays Clarissa Mason, admitted she was "stunned" by her sudden exit. The actress revealed that after leaving the soap she is lined up to appear in John Travolta's latest big screen project From Paris With Love.

Its not on is it..they should have the decency to let the actors be the first to know I read in my Crossroads book that Pamela Vezey who played Kath Brownlow in Crossroads was called into the producers office on her birthday,he gave her an envelope she opened it thinking it was a birthday card and it was a note to tell her she'd been axed !! how heartless

Hang on. Isn't this a carbon of Michael Starke?
That was cruel to Pamela Vezey. Then they gave Kath that wet nelly to marry!

It's too bad they have to find out this way. They should have the decency to let the actor know first. When I met Michael Starke in June I said to him I was sorry to see he was leaving the show. His reply was 'I'm not!"
