NIGHTMARE ON CORONATION STREET
* NEW ITV1 Network Friday 29 October 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this trick or treat for Halloween, Nightmare on Coronation Street takes a walk on the dark side of the cobbles.
Lock your doors, grab your cushion and sit on the edge of your seats as cast both past and present look back over a creepy collection of Corrie classics. Some of the weird Weatherfield wonders include evil bad boy Jez Quigley’s antics, to the freakish discovery of supermarket stalker Anne Malone’s body in a Freshco’s freezer.
Looking back through the years, the programme highlights some of the spookier storylines endured by the cast of the nation’s favourite soap. We celebrate some of the scariest characters ever to tread the Corrie cobbles, such as Barmy Brenda Ferns, Mad Maya and of course Tricky Dicky Hillman.
Soap fans are also given an insight into some of the real-life behind the scenes nightmares the cast have faced whilst filming. Including actress Sally Whittaker (Sally Webster) who recalls how the earth moved for her when a mini earth tremor shook the Manchester studios where the soap is filmed.
The programme features interviews with Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt), Helen Worth (Gail Platt), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Andrew Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Lucy–Jo Hudson (Katy Harris), Vicky Entwistle (Janice Battersby), Sasha Behar (Maya Sharma), Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw), Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper), Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald), Martin Hancock (Spider Nugent), Stephen Billington (Greg Kelly), Nick Cochrane (Andy McDonald) and Dean Ashton (Aidan Critchley).
Nightmare on Coronation Street is produced by Nickie Lister and the executive producer is Sarah Murch. It is a Granada production for ITV1.
