Wow! That's a bit of a coup. I was going to post it in the Comings & Goings thread but it could be missed. From the Sun:
The EqualEnder

SCREEN veteran Edward Woodward — who starred as 80s telly tough guy The Equalizer — has landed a role in EastEnders.
He plays mysterious old-timer Tommy Clifford, seemingly charming but hiding a darker side.
He sets tongues wagging in Albert Square by asking questions about Patrick Trueman, played by Rudolph Walker.
Woodward, 78, has already started filming and will appear on the BBC1 soap next month.
He said: “I’ve watched and enjoyed EastEnders for many years and it has been a joy to work on this great show.”
Woodward found fame with 1960s spy series Callan, then starred as a cop in cult horror film The Wicker Man.
He became a favourite both sides of the Atlantic as gun-for-hire Robert McCall in US show The Equalizer.
EastEnders boss Diederick Santer said: “This is a great thrill for all of us.
"On the surface this character is a warm, charming and engaging man, but there are other much darker things going on too.
“I hope the audience are as fascinated watching Edward at work as I have been.”

I like how they`re building this storyline up gradually. Although I don`t know how long Ed will be in EE for, it will be good to see him regardless.

It will. Let's hope it doesn't drag out like Bunny and Gonnie.
