From DS New Emmerdale series producer Gavin Blyth is reportedly searching for a refreshing new family to spice up the Yorkshire soap. According to The Sun, the new raft of characters will include a middle-aged sexy mum, a charismatic dad and a rogue teenager. One character specification apparently reads: "A charismatic bad boy, who must be physically fit, and possess a seriously sexy six-pack body to match! "Very much in the early Cain Dingle mould, ruthless, unscrupulous, and extremely promiscuous." An Emmerdale spokesperson this morning told DS: "We are in the process of developing some new characters but details of these have not been confirmed." Last month, it was announced that Jeff Hordley is to reprise his role as Cain Dingle. He will reappear on screen in April. Just as long as we don't get a family that is remotely like the Windass's from Corrie !

What is up with the families that are already there?
Well I am presuming Cain is back for good, unless of course he as been offered work elsewhere again - yes I know that was bitchy!

I thought they were grooming Aaron to be Emmerdales token bad boy. Are they wussying him up so that he`d have a soft side???

ANOTHER new family?!
What the hell! Half the characters they have now mostly sit about doing nothing except be back up. They don't need more families and new characters they need to make the characters they have work and give them some storylines.

What's the betting they'll be a complete disaster then they'll be axed and TPTB will look for another lot?

They should indeed. All soaps have these characters yet insist on bringing in new rather than use the ones they've got.

Maisie Wylde is a right madam. Real good time gal. Can't stand her after two episodes and I hate her already. lol

Maisie Wylde is a right madam. Real good time gal. Can't stand her after two episodes and I hate her already. lol Well do you know something, the other night when her Mum and Dad and brother was talking to her about Andy Sugden, for the first time I think I understood what people meant by 'wooden' acting She was terrible there was nothing there at all And I hate all the Wyldes still, the only one I could maybe stand is Mark and now the young lad. But the rest... I have to also paste the comment I made in the 'episode thread' as it is relevant I think to this conversation about the Wyldes and TPTB: The wyldes party and Nicola being in charge was a sence of Deja Vu for me.
Comparisons? Mark Wylde party for his birthday/Tom Kings birthday party for his 65th -
Nicola organsing people particularly the scene where she shouts to a bloke 'Not there' / Charity shouting to someone when he was putting a plant in the wrong place.
THEN to top it all off, Charity singing to Tom 'Marilyn Monroe' style /Maisie Wylde singing the SAME song to her Dad in that car
Cant they think up something different??
