Season 6 of Desperate Housewives begins filming Monday 13th July (tomorrow). Casting scripts (some don't come to pass) have been circulating for a couple of weeks now.
ABC have already confirmed the schedule for the first two episodes. Season 6 will premiere in the US on 27th September 2009 and episode 6x02 will air on the 4th October.
ABC have already confirmed the schedule for the first two episodes. Season 6 will premiere in the US on 27th September 2009 and episode 6x02 will air on the 4th October.
- After writing Julie out at the end of Season 4, show creator Marc Cherry said that he planned to bring Julie back at some point. Well current reports suggest that Andrea Bowen will reprise the role of Julie Mayer in the Season 6 premiere. ABC at this time, will only confirm that she is in one episode however rumours abound that Julie is back as a main character throughout Season 6. Further rumours suggest that she will be entangled with the new family, therefore somehow caught up in the Season 6 mystery?
- Richard Burgi will appear in a number of episodes of Season 6 in the re-occurring role of Karl Mayer. Karl's expected to begin an affair with Bree.
- ABC released the season's general synopses at their 2009-2010 press conference on 19th May 2009:Susan (Teri Hatcher) and Mike (James Denton) are brought together by their worst fears; Lynette's (Felicity Huffman) unexpected pregnancy tests her family; as Bree's (Marcia Cross) marriage dissolves, she finds herself in the arms of another man; Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) is in for a surprise when she and Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) welcome their niece, Ana (Maiara Walsh), into their home; and Katherine (Dana Delany) struggles over the thought of losing Mike
- Actress Maiara Walsh is joining the regular cast in the role of Ana Solis. Also Drea de Matteo (of 'Sopranos' fame) joins the regular cast as Angie Vitale, the matriach of the new family at the centre of Season 6's mystery.
- New housewife Angie Vitale (Drea de Matteo) moves to Wisteria Lane with her husband Nick played by Jeffrey Nordling, and 19 year old son. The son (whose name seems to conflict in different reports) will be played by Beau Mirchoff.
The Vitales of course have a secret.
According to TV GuideBased on the arrival script for [Drea] de Matteo's character, she's for certain a fish out of water, having traded the noise and grime of New York City for a serene picket-fenced life on Wisteria Lane. ...it appears that the son will attempt to strike a spark with one of the neighborhood girls. (Perhaps Gaby's freshly introduced bad-girl niece?) The husband, meanwhile, seems likeable enough - if a bit, um, flirty. - According to Zap2It's Korbi TVSources tell me September's Desperate Housewives premiere is set to feature a Susan Mayer wedding... or the preparations for one at least (who knows if she'll actually go through with the "I do"s). Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that Susan wasn't the lady Mike married in the season finale. As every Desperate fan knows, the show is no stranger to flashbacks, divorces or second chances.
- According to TV Guide MagazineOne of the biggest laughs in the Desperate Housewives season finale was when Felicity Huffman's Lynette, who was worried sick her cancer had returned, learned she was pregnant with twins! "Are you sure it's not cancer?" she asked her doctor. [...] Lynette will absolutely be pregnant when the series returns for Season 6. And abortion will not be an option. "I could never do that," [Marc] Cherry says. "The network would never let me." But he adds, "On TV you can always have a miscarriage." (Lynette had better stay away from staircases for the next few months.) Felicity finds her character's new story line amusing. "The Scavos aren't stopping until we can field an entire softball team," jokes the actress, who's now referring to Lynette as the "old lady on Wisteria Lane who had so many children her uterus fell out."
