woohooo YouTube have all the brilliant Australian dramas available to watch on YouTube.... Home and Away, The Sullivans, PCBH, Sons and Daughters (and I think A Country Practice too)....all from the beginning!!!!!! Just go to YouTube, type in the name of the soap you want to watch then the episode number after it!!! Home and Away just have 110 episodes for now, but in 3 months, it will be uploaded again. I am loving all these episodes. Right now I`m watching Sons and Daughters (ep 135) on my monitor now whilst doing some more knitting. Who needs a tv eh?. Life is good ;D

LOL isn`t it just. I`ve always loved Sons and Daughters, and I missed it terribly when I got married in 1989 and moved to he US. For many years I used to have a reacurring dream where I used to get ready to watch Sons and Daughters, and as the theme music started I then woke up.It was so vivid and I always felt a sense of loss. And then when I watched the first episode online, I asked my hubby if I was still in a dream, and he laughed and told me no...I was actually watching Sons and Daughters and it wasn`t a dream. Weird or what!!!

I`m happy to say all is not lost Sooty. The lovely bloke austvclassivs can be found here..... www.dailymotion.com/austvclassics#video=xiuoq4He has your favourite 'A Country Practice' among others. He`s starting them from the beginning again and has a daily schedule of what he`s uploaded so far. I have to wait a while before I catch up on 'The Sullivans' and 'H&A, and 'S&D'. But I really don`t mind waiting as I know I`ll get them eventually. *does the happy dance* ;D ;D ;D

I was looking at that freeze frame yesterday and I thought to myself that looks like David Palmer. I`m glad you confirmed it Sooty! ;D Who is Shane Withington in H&A? What character does he play? I have to say I am enjoying the 2012 H&A. I`m nearly a month behind though as I have other things to watch.

Have they taken off all the videos of the aussie soaps on you tube? Thats a shame as they had all of PCBH, Sons and Daughters, ACP and the Sullivans. I watched an ep of ACP the other night and have often watched bits of Sons and Daughters and PCBH. Havent had time to watch them all right through!
ACP was my fave too, I watched that for years and year when HTV showed it.

PCBH is still there Jez. It`s all of austvclassics videos they took off. You`ll still be able to watch all the Australian soaps online from the beginning at the link I posted Jez.... www.dailymotion.com/austvclassics#video=xiuoq4My Mother adored ACP, the Sullivans, S&D, Flying Doctors, Young Doctors. But she wasn`t keen on Neighbours or Home & Away.

Thanks Sotty...I had a feeling Shane is John. When he first came into H&A, I laughed because of remembering the other David Palmer on H&A. The H&A John Palmer character was a bigot when he first came into it wasn`t he. That was when I started watching again after a 20+ year hiatus LOL.

Thanks Wendy. ACP was my fave aussie soap, I remember when HTV showed it, it was all over the place in the schedule, shown any time between 1.30pm and 3.30pm in the afternoons, sometimes for an hour, other times it was cut into half hour episodes, varying number of episodes per week were shown - anything between 2-5 half hour episodes. Eventually it ended up at 5.10pm (most regions showed Home and Away at this time but HTV showed this at 6pm) and it ended in March 1999. I used to watch it in school holidays then when it was shown around 3.30pm used to watch it after school and then eventually from 1994 it was on at 5.10pm!

My Mother used to tape S&D for us when we were at work. In the late 80s there was 'Richmond Hill'. I used to love that soap, but it didn`t last long. 'Chrissie' from PCBH was in it.

I loved Richmond Hill. Marilyn fron H&A was in it, the actress was also in Emmerdale playing Louise.

I didn`t know that sooty about Marylin being in it. I only caught a few episodes because I moved to the US not long after it debuted in the UK.

I`m watching the 1st ep of 'The Flying Doctors' - but I really can`t get into it. It doesnt help that 'John' from the Sullivans is in it playing another doctor LOL

Afew years ago there was a rumour that there was going to be an Aussie channel...but sadly it didn't happen.

I remember that Sooty. It`s a shame that didn`t happen - my Mother would`ve loved it. Over here in the US there is the Soap Net channel, but it`s rubbish. It used to be good as when it debuted, they had Dynasty episodes on there. I remember phoning long distance to ask if they would ever consider having Australian and British soaps on that channel, but they said they had no plans to.

The BBC America channel here may as well rename it the Top Gear channel as that`s all that seems to be on it lately.
