Usually I'm quite militant, and usually sympathise with strikers' demands, because people usually only strike in extreme circumstances. But travel perks? On licence fee payers' money? Hmm - smacks of spoilt brattishness to me. But one of the comments mentions the inflated pay of on screen employees, who seem to be getting everything. It takes input from everyone to make a tv show - so why should the on screen people be so well treated and the behind the scenes people be treated as second class citizens?
So - to make it fair for everyone the Beeb need to cancel ALL travel expenses, and all the bloody great limos that deliver Babs and co to the studios. Then it would be fair. They can pay for their own cabs, or drive their own cars, or - horror of horrors use public transport like the rest of us.

Totally agree there. Surely on £X,000,000 a year they can afford their own driver or taxi. Or, if they live with someone, get them to take them in and pick them up.
