So far ive got Bill Roache's book, the official 50th anniversary book and the Official magazine.
I am planning on getting the other book, annual, calender and DVD's soon. I am a bit disappointed that there is so little from the 60s/70s on the DVD set. I assume this is because they have already released 60s/70s/80s box sets? But I think almost all of the eps on this set from the 60s/70s/80s are the same as ones on the previous releases! I will still get the DVD set at some stage tho, prob when it comes down in price, as there are other things on there such as the 50 top character countdown which would interest me.
Anyone else getting anything?

The Anniversary book for sure. I might get the calendar too. But will check to see who is on it. If there are too many of prawn and Me-me-Chelle I probably won`t get it.I have a calendar already for 2011 with cute little kittens on. I`d like to buy the Bill Tarmeys book too - and Bill Roaches Years ago my twin sis toured the cobbles, and bought me a Rovers Return magnet. It sits pride of place on my fridge. When we bought a new fridge last week, that Rovers Return magnet was the first one I transfered over to my new one. ;D

Well I bought the book yesterday and I'm a bit dissapointed...all it is really is a chronicle of the plots over 50 years,no background info like in the 40th anniversary book
There are some good pictures in it which I haven't seen before, but other than that its nothing special
..AND it's already out of date as Beverley Callard is quoted as saying she would love to be playing Liz till she gets to Emily Bishops age...
And no mention at all of the tram crash which is the focal point of the 50th Anniversary

I thought the 40th was crap. 25th (both versions) and 30th were better.

The 40th was good I thought,it told you lots of behind the scenes stuff for each year, such as Thelma Barlow quitting because she was angry about Peter Baldwins sacking and about the industrial dispute in 1961 where cast members not on a long term contract had to be laid off and which ones didn't return and stuff like that...trouble is mine is that well read its starting to give at the spine..so I thought a good 50th would be just the job to replace it
the 30th was a good one because it took you through month by month of every year and told you what was happening.

Same as the 25th which is why the 40th was crap in comparison. Much of the stuff in the 40th, such as Thelma, are well known.

I know it's well known ..but it's good to see it in print..and there was lots of other stuff too...but I would have liked a more chronological order to events

The 45th one was the first Corrie treasures book I think which they are no re-releasing.
The 50th book is ok, but like Nick I think the 40th was far better. They seem to skip over so much in the 50th. The 40th was in far more depth. There is another book released which is an unofficial one, ive seen it in the shops but not bought it yet. Also still havent for the DVD set yet as so many eps were on previous boxsets that were released.

I think I have the 30th if its the book im thinking of - it was really good if I remember but has been so well read its not in great condition! Bill Roache gives a lot of background info on Corrie in his new book - thats well worth a read if you are interested in that. He talked about the industrial dispute of 1961 etc. It is mainly about Bill's life in Corrie as he has already released other books which cover other things in his life.

Another thing ive noticed about the 50th book is that stuff isnt really seperated into chronological order - its in decades and whilst a lot is in order they have got bits mixed up and mentioned storylines that happens after stuff mentioned later on.

And in the 40th book they gave you a yearly top 20 of who had appeared in the most episodes that year and their total all together that was interesting and it would be interesting to look at the figures up to 2010
