There is a family of three balloons; Daddy balloon, Mummy balloon and Baby balloon.
One night at bedtime, Daddy balloon says to Baby balloon, “Listen son, you’re much to old to sleep with Mummy and Daddy now, you’ll have to sleep in your own bed from now on.” Baby balloon cries, pleads and throws a tantrum, but Daddy balloon insists and finally, Baby balloon promises he wont try to get in with Mummy and Daddy and sadly climbs into his own bed.
At 2 o’clock in the morning, Baby balloon wakes up and decides to try to sneak into bed with Mummy and Daddy. There isn’t much room, so he very carefully unties his Dad’s knot and lets out some air, and ties it up again. There still isn’t enough room for him to get in, so he unties his Mummys knot, lets some air out of her and ties her up again. There still isn’t enough room, so, as a last resort, he unties his own knot, lets out lots of air, and ties himself up again. Finally, he manages to squeeze in to the bed and snuggles down between his Mummy and Daddy.
The next day, when Daddy balloon wakes up and finds Baby balloon in bed with him and Mummy, Daddy balloon is really angry. He says, “Son, I am really, really disappointed in you; I told you you weren’t allowed to sleep in our bed any more and you promised us you wouldn’t … You’ve let me down, you’ve let your Mother down, but most of all, you’ve let yourself down.”
