That's rather the feeling we're getting too Nick.

Don't you remember the wooden one used in Tom's era?
LOL! I disagree with a lot because I've been to conventions and get the thoughts of other fans. Yes we watch it, but whereas Paul and I were in a minority at first about it being crap, we became the majority! But most we've spoken to since Moffatt took over loves Matt Smith. Stories would be better as stand alone, as I've said before.

I totally agree.
Don't have a problem with the casting either (I like Matt Smith in the part); it's just the writing that's got a bit 'up itself'.

I like Matt Smith too..but I do agree with that chap when he says that he says lines to quickly and the audience miss what he says..i know I do

I don't but then I have subtitles on! LOL! It's a habit I started when I watched Corrie due to being fed up with mumbles as delivering lines. But even catching up I have no probs.

Its when he explains something very technical..it's done very quickly as though the director has said 'Just say it fast dear,it doesn't matter anyway'

Some people talk fast though. I do. I didn't realise I did until recording a video tribute to my friend Steve and my friend told me to slow down. It's alien to me! Still, Matt Smith doesn't gabble as bad as Graham Norton. No idea what he was saying during Eurovision half the time. LOL!

My dad missed it so will watch the repeat on BBC 3 tomorrow. Think I'll watch it with him. I loved it. It would make a good stand alone story.

Hooray - no annoying 'Next Tim' bit!!!!!! I thanked Steven Moffatt on Twitter. LOL!
Well I didn't think this ep was as strong as last week. Had a good few twists but the CGI was dreadful and so was some of the dialogue. Loved the nods to the past again. "I've reversed the polarity of the jelly baby." LOL! This is what Dr Who is all about, regardless of whether anyone has seen the older Doctors. I never got The Three Doctors on original transmission since Pertwee was my first and I'm sure it was the same in the 80s for young fans. RTD wanted to keep both series apart whereas Steven Moffatt is a PROPER FAN and wants what the rest of us do while at the same time keeping it for modern audiences. The show is in the right hands. ;D
Can't wait for next week's half-series finale!

It wasn't bad; as I said, probably the strongest (and certainly the most straightforward) story so far, but have to say that the series as a whole is just not really grabbing our attention - in fact, last night I wandered off a couple of times to do tasks round the house while it was on, and Carol went out to pick our daughter up from coach station, without asking me to record it for her!
Disappointing.

I still think the problem is story arcs. If the episodes are boring it won't keep the attention to the end. Also the 'Next Time' bit gives too much away like all trailers these days so there's no point watching.

It's a shame really. I like the present Doctor and his companion. I do find my attention wanders though.

Going to admit, I've been enjoying this season far more than I have enjoyed it in a while. It's just seemed to drag on since the end of season 2, especially with the continued reappearances of Rose, which never really made much sense seeing as she's meant to be stuck in some alternate universe.
Usually I hate it when things confuse me, but this season has me so confused that I'm finding it funny. One thing that's been bugging me since the last episode - when was Amy replaced with flesh? I'm assuming during the months she was off on her own trying to find out about the silence, which would explain the "I'm pregnant." in episode one quickly jumping to "it was a false alarm." in episode 2. A little disappointed that we haven't found out more about that girl.
The 'next time' trailer things are on the website now, which is actually a great idea, it's not thrown in your face after the show so you can't miss it, it gives you the choice. Not sure if that's permanent.
I like the combination of characters right now, especially when River's there. They just work. Some of the others didn't (I'm not particularly fond of the Martha season). I like Amy, and Matt Smith is probably my favourite doctor out of the three in the revived series (didn't see much of Eccleson, Tennant just wasn't as funny).
There are way too many two-parters this season though, the one starting next week is the third and it's only the seventh episode, they're making the mid-season cut after it, which means a huge cliffhanger and more confusion. The standalones are a lot easier to follow IMO, I like not having to think about what happened last time.

According to Stephen Moffatt, it will be a while before we see the Daleks again.

Sooty, good. They've been overused under RTD and I HATE the new Cybermen. Hardly scary when they open their electronic gobs and go "Delete" in a lightweight voice!
Ishtar, I think it was episode 2 when she disappeared in the building.

Had to be around then, because when he done the pregnancy scan on her in the Tardis, I'm assuming it wouldn't complete because it wasn't detecting her as human. Sure it was episode 2 when he first tried that.
I agree that the Cybermen aren't scary. I've actually only ever found the Weeping Angels scary, and that was back in the first episode they appeared (since 05, havn't watched the classic series) with Martha. They haven't scared me since, I guess it's the whole once you've seen them once thing.

Yes it was. Now all that positive/negative makes sense but I really wish they'd stop this.
It is. The only thing I cannot look at are the giant maggots from The Green Death. I KNOW they're just blown up condoms with teeth but they scare the hell out of me even now. LOL!

Well internet rumour was right about River! Bloody obvious really.
What WAS the point of the Cybermen? What was the point of any of it? It was an enjoyable ep but bored with these story arcs.
