We didn't enjoy it much - thought it was messy and confusing.

I quite enjoyed it, even though, as usual I was confused throughout ;D. The aliens looked a bit creepy.
Nice to see it dedicated to Elisabeth Sladen.

Matthew Waterhouse didn't like it. Said it was a mess. The dedication was as meaningless as the one to Jon Pertwee on the TV Movie. Where the hell was something to Nick Courtney? He's been in far more than her. You know, Lis was barely mentioned during the convention by the guests or attendees. She'd put a lot of people's backs up over the years, more so when she had renewed fame. When it was mentioned in Louise Jameson's panel she said, "What a shame. Too young. RIP" in a dismissive voice. But the tribute 10th Planet put on was much better than the vomit on CBBC. David Tennant is just saying the right things about Louise or any of them he grew up with. He met Louise before he was famous and asked her neice (who was floor manager on a play he did) if she could introduce him. 10th planet had clips (like the pukey version) but also outtakes from the 30th anniversary on UK Gold when the cast introduced the stories. It was bloody hilarious. (aside to Nick) - Get to conventions before they all die!!!! Derek said he may put another on there next year. COME!!!!!! But back to the ep. I thought it was quite funny but clearly this 'death' looks like a pull to lure in viewers. I'm sure it will be explained in time. LOL! Patsy

Part 2
What was that all about?..and who was the little girl?...and why does River choose to go back to prison when she seems to be able to whizz off wherever and whenever she wants

I don't know who the little girl was but she was played by the daughter of Stuart Wade and Tonicha Jeronimo who played Biff Fowler and Linda Glover in Emmerdale. ;D

Enjoyed it far more than Part One, but still very confuzzled!
Love Alex Kingston as River Song, and enjoying Rory more and more as a character as time goes on. Also thought the FBI/CIA/Whatever character was a good addition - d'you think we'll see him again?

This is why stand alone stories are better. All this arc stuff turns the average viewer off. I wish Steven Moffatt had made changes to the format instead of carrying on the same stuff.
But onto the ep which I caught up with on iPlayer before my physio appointment. Really pleased this Doctor still hates the snogging guff. Internet rumour has it River is Amy's daughter but wouldn't that be too obvious? The child can regenerate which is interesting. But regenerate into whom??? I enjoyed it despite bad CGI when River fell off the building and not understanding it either!

Well........uuummmm.......not sure what to say......17th century pirate captains are very accepting of time travel, electricity, space ships, aliens, holograms & alien corpses etc..aren't they?
The only bit I enjoyed was at the beginning was when Matt Smith said Yo ho ho

Yes it did flag, didn't it? It was so full of unanswered questions it could have been written by RTD! It wasn't bad but could've been better. The pirates were also far too clean and polite!

I'm afraid that on the evidence so far, the show has definitely gone off the boil for us.

They need to drop the formula created by RTD and breath new life into it. It didn't last 26 years before like this and there were FAR worse stories than what we're getting now.

Absolutely LOVED tonight's! Could've come straight from the original series. Brilliant. BUT the wonderful moment at the end was ruined by the 'Next Time' bollocks instead of credits! Not that it'll make any difference but I've virtually pleaded with Steven Moffatt on Twitter to drop it. He himself is annoyed with spoilers and what's that???

Not bad - best one so far.
Loved Suranne Jones - she's done some really good stuff since leaving Corrie.
Still find the storylines too 'jumpy' and confusing - I prefer my Doctor Who somewhat simpler!

I loved all the references to the past, including the Eye of Orion from Peter Davison's era. I could imagine any of the first 7 Doctors doing this script but it would've been better plotted over a few weeks! Steven Moffatt has the right ideas but is stupidly continuing RTD's series formula leaving no room for development. That and the 'Next Time' bit are my only complaints.

Unfortunately Patsy, you have to remember that not all of us have followed DW as closely as some people, so past references don't always make a lot of sense, and they make it hard to follow!

True but it doesn't really matter because it was all explained anyway. We always knew the Doctor nicked the Tardis and she was undergoing repairs so it's nice all that is mentioned again for the next generation. Although contrary to common myth, kids LOVE the old stuff because they were at conventions long before it returned. Also new fans have watched the old.

What a pity though the 'old console rooms' consisted PURELY of RTD's pukey green one.

Patsy I do agree with a lot of what he said..but I do disagree with a lot too lol (I wasn't keen on David Tennent)..I feel the show is getting a bit too big for its boots..and the plots have a lot of holes in them I didn't know the TARDIS had any old console rooms...why not just give them a lick of paint and re-use them
