Emmerdale actress Lesley Dunlop has had her head shaved for her character Brenda Walker's ongoing battle with a brain tumour.

Viewers will know that Brenda was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March. She initially refused treatment for the condition as she was scared it would change her personality and fail to save her life.

However, after being persuaded by her family, Brenda agreed to have surgery.

Dunlop told The Sun: "I'm really proud of Brenda's storyline so far and although shaving my hair off was a big decision, I don't feel brave.

"I'm extremely fortunate not to be in the position of all those people who are living this life - they are the brave ones."


I can only presume she gets her head shaved as her characters hair is falling out due to chemo. I think she looks ok bald

I wish I could say the same for the character she plays. I really loathe Brenda.

I quite like Brenda....i just wish the writers would be a bit more consistent with her character...one minute she's nice, then she's as thick as a brick, then she's a bit of a bitch !!
