Just watched this on ITV .. very interesting..although they got a few things wrong .. they said Sally had been on the street since 1985 and it was 86, and Jane Danson had been playing Leanne for 20 years..She joined in 97 making it 17 years (With a 5 year break) but am I being picky lol?
Is the new set on screen now then?

Every time lately that bloody woman is on the telly doing something major, my site hits go mental. I thought she'd died or something until Googling and read she cries in this doc. 74 hits between 9-10pm. This is just a few currently looking.

There seems to be more space in places and different angles shown. According to one of today's papers, they haven't got the cobbles down properly and prople are in danger of breaking their necks !! Seemingly they are being fixed

LOL Pats. One can only hope. I`m surprised he wasn`t featured front and centre of the documentary, and Kym Marsh too. This documentary must have been made prior to Bill Roaches trial as there wasn`t one mention of him.

The 1st ep must have been the final one, and the 2nd ep the first at the new studio. I remember on the documentary they had a scene of Sally noticing Tony by the builders van. Then the scene ended and everyone was cheering Sally. I just saw this. I enjoyed this better than the documentary even though it was shorter. www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/coronation-street-tour-video-viewers-3217378

From DS
Coronation Street has updated its opening titles, Digital Spy can confirm.
The update to the opening sequence is only minor, but reflects the changes to the famous street since the current titles were introduced in mid-2010.
Eagle-eyed fans have often pointed out that the current titles feature two outdated shots as they show the old-style Corner Shop and don't include Nick's Bistro.
The new titles remove these shots and replace them with two new ones - showing the Bistro as well as the updated exterior to the Rovers Return, which was brought in after last year's fire.
Viewers will see the new titles, which are otherwise unchanged, for the first time on Monday (March 10).
Next week's episodes also include the first exterior scenes filmed at the new Coronation Street set in Trafford. The first interior scenes from the soap's new home have already aired.

According to a post on DS, there was a voiceover saying the first exterior shots would be seen last Friday. Confusing! LOL!

This is an old thread but i rewatched this over the weekend and loved it just as much as the first time. Im glad they concentrated on the history of the old sets, it was especially interesting to hear about the inside set from 1960 til 1968 and then the first outdoor set from 1968 until 1982.
Sally probabaly started filming in late 85 as she was on screen in January 86. And Jane Danson appeared in a few Granada shows, including Children's Ward if I remember rightly, so prob did work at Granada on and off for 20 years.
When I was last in Manchester for the Christmas Corrie Tour, i notice the main Granada building has a cafe on the ground floor - enterance by the plaques on the wall - and the upstairs is being rented out as office space
