Based on the 1996 film of the same name. Stars Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. Very dark, violent and plain weird. ....but also laugh-out-loud funny in places. Reminds me a little of Twin Peaks, which we loved. Looking forward to next episode.

Yes, very good. I saw the film years ago - but I don't remember it too well. Lots of killing in the snow, after one thing after another goes wrong, and a pregnant cop carefully tracking it all. Martin Freeman does play 'downtrodden/despondent' very well. Billy Bob Thornton as the nutter was good, too.

This really is a great series, with some strong characters and Billy Bob Thornton as the truly creepy (but somehow likeable) Malvo. Love it!

It's excellent. I love Molly - such a subtle and clever character. Also slightly dozy Gus, who is played by Tom Hanks's son. The sparse and slightly more polite dialogue is good - makes you listen more closely and has more of an effect than constant loud-mouthed non stop wise-cracking, which becomes tiresome.
