Given this evening's sad news we can see now that she knew or at least suspected she was sick - it's such a shame.

Such a shock. Maybe Annes cancer had returned. I know there was a reason why she would have such a hasty exit from the show. I`m sure her death and funeral will be written into the show, and the tears that will be shed will definitely be real.  |

Reports say breast cancer which spread to her brain after she stopped treatment because it made her ill. Also apparently a script will be written next month. Maybe Anne discussed Deirdre's future with someone when she knew she wouldn't be back.
