Thanks for sharing that, what a fantastic twenty minutes! We only seem to get BBC news in Canada so I will share that link with fans over here.
I remember I started watching regularly just before the Rashid storyline leading into the Weatherfield One (which led to Jackie Dobbs which led to Tyrone). It's hard to imagine the show without Deirdre! Even before then I'd see the show in passing and hers was one of the more memorable regular faces.

I was so shocked when I heard about Anne's death last Monday night, I guessed something was wrong when she left for a break so suddenly but didnt expect this.
RIP Anne

The private, invitation only funeral was held yesterday.
Coronation Street colleagues thought to have been invited included Bill Roache (Ken Barlow), Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow), Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow) Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald) and former Corrie actor Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin).

Im glad it was a private funeral, I think its what she would have wanted given that she kept her illness secret.

It`s perfect. It`s how it should be. I have to say I do feel sorry for Kate Ford. She and Anne were very close, and it must feel like losing your own Mother. I can remember Anne saying about how close she and Maggie Hunt were in real life, and how she felt like it was losing her own Mother when Maggie/Blanche. With all the time the the Corrie actors spend on set with each other, I`m sure they all feel like family.

I'm hoping Dawn Acton was there too.

I have every confidence they will do her justice sooty. Anne was well loved with both the cast and crew. And I`m sure Anne`s family will get input every step of the way in Deidre`s storyline.

For anyone else Pats, I would have said no. But because Anne/Deidre was such a huge part of our lives for 40 years -I felt like I knew her personally. It really feels like losing an old and dear friend. I will miss Anne/Deidre so much.
