I was just wondering, lately they been making a bit of a deal out of the friends SorFee seems to be keeping, and like, while Id ont watch corrie religiously, surely they can't show SorFee smoking on tele cna they? I mean, she's too young like. Course I think its a good story cause of peer pressures and all.
Second question that boy that she was spending time with, is he actually older than Chesney? Even though they are supposed to be in the same year group, I am a little confused.

I think they are makeing a big deal out of the type of friend`s sorfee is keeping because they are leading her into bad way`s. she appear`s to be a easily led girl Pablo. I don`t watch corrie reguerly I wish I could but I don`t have the time. but yes they can show sorfee smokeing on tv and have already shown her drunk. which she is too young to do I agree with you there:). I`m confused about that boy too as he appear`s to be in sorfee`s age group but is a lot older than chesney and is a bad influence on sorfee so I can`t think they are in the same year group .

I don't think they actually showed Sophie smoking, but she had the intention. Chesney hid the fags, and got the blame.

thank you Pearly I did miss that bit ,"aww poor Chesney" he`s alway`s getting the blame . but they did show her drinking Pearly and that was bad enough btw who bought the fag`s? as that`s against the law too as all three of them are too young. or did Chesney knick a packet from Les and Cilla (no that would be impossible they would have missed them right away ;p lol)

Cameron had the cigs, and Sophie nicked a fiver off Sally so they could buy some more - and poor Chesney got the blame of that too, at first.

I did see when Sally blamed Chesney for knicking the money,I loved it when Sally had to appologise to Les ,Cilla and Chesney did you .sneaky little cow Sophie fancy knicking the money off your mother to buy more fag`s . but how could Cameron buy the cig`s? which shop sold him them Dev`s or the Kabin ? he`s not old enough to buy them so which ever shop it was has broken the law .

Believe me Valda, things like that happen more than you can imagine. When I was a kid my mother used to send me to the shop for her to pick up cigarettes for her, though, my mother knew the shopkeeper very well, they were good friends. So I could get served no problem and there was never any questions asked. Had I wanted to smoke when I was a young teenager I could have done, easily.
Another thing to consider is, very often, and I know this from my oldest daughter, you will get people in school, the really older kids, of year 10 and 11 who are in a position to get served. They will buy cigarettes and then sell them on at a profit to the younger kids in school who want to give smoking a go. That is one way. Another is and I have seen this happen, kids will ask somone old enough to go in and buy them for them.
I think perhaps a lot of Sophie's problems stem from that Cameron and the company she keeps in her school. That is not to say she may not have experimented with fags at a later date. There is simply no depends, and unfortunately, she won't see it as health destructive or as expensive and bad for her, if her friends are doing it, to fit in and be "cool" the automatic reaction is she will have to be a part of it too.

I was hopeing thing`s like that didn`t happen Mrs Demigod :,( my husband and I used to run a shop ona caravan site and yes the teen`s did try (quite often lol)and fail to buy fag`s from us. because it if we`d served them even with a note from their parent`s saying that they`d sent them to get ciggerette`s for them, it would have put our licence in jepordy as it is against the law we didn`t want to risk it. if a adult buy`s them we could`t query if the fag`s wer for them or not we had to serve them. so yes it is more than possible for kid`s to get them that way,(and alcohol too of course ) to sell on to their classmate`s but that doesn`t make it right as it does damage thier health, it`s a pity they never think of that and it`s an expensive hobby to appear cool you are right there:(. (btw I did experiment with them when I was an older teen and could buy them, but one drag and I threw the lot in the bin ,smokeing was not for me) smokeing is not that cool kid`s belive me it`s not!. it`s more cool to be yourself I think and not follow your friend`s into these habit`s but I`ve a feeling your right about Sophie`s problem`s stemming from Cameron and her friend`s at school .

Well, when the person is over 16 then you serve them and that's that. I think its preferable if your son/daughter does not smoke, but sometimes you have to take what is given. Even if they ignore advice you give.
This is a good storyline anyway, and realistic, I think its good to show a soap family dealing with a teenage smoker. Because there are a lot more girls out there who smoke than are pregnant which is the usual route soaps take. Though it is the company Sophie keeps I think, which is what is causing her to do this perhaps, I agree there. Then again there are no guarantees Sophie would not experiment on her own merits, but as it stands now she is doing it to impress.
Just goes to show how easily kids can be led into things.

Whoa thanks for the replies. Sweet! So basically Cameron is the no gooder, hopefully from now on Sophie will stay away from him, my Grandad always says something like "show me your friends and I'll tell you about you." So if they got sense, Chesney and Sophie will stay away from him.
In reply to Valda's point here, I have found personally that most people are prepared to serve fags to you as long as you can pay and or offer them credible enough BS to say you are old enough when they may ask. I could get served and I am still under 16. Though, I don't smoke anymore as its a bad habit and stuff, but I still have friends who smoke and they don't experience problem.

yes if Sophie and Chesney stay away from Cameron they would stay out of trouble , Cameron is a trouble maker/ a no gooder but while Chesney might stay away from him,I doubt Sophie will as she seem`s to have a crush on him. (think`s she love`s him) . btw your granddad has a point your friend`s can influence you if you let them. as to your answer to my point Pablo, I,m deeply sorry to hear that you personally have found people who were perpared to serve you fag`s as long as you could pay and when you offered them credible enough bs. but I,m afraid thet broke the law to serve you and could have jepeordised their licence doing that and that is the point which I and my husband would not do: I`m afraid:(. you maybe able to get served but the point is your still under 16 Pablo if your friend`s do that then I am sorry but you and they and the person who served you willingly or duped by credible bs are breaking the law ok. I`m pleased to hear you no longer smoke, well done .

I aint gonna argue that them serving me and my at the time friends was wrong and they were breakign the law, cause they were I knew that. Though me smoking is not illegal, surely? And even if it was, considering they just jailed a woman here cause she was giving her son class A drugs...... me having a fag in the past doesn't seem so bad!

Yeah thanks. Just thinking back, I suppose waht I did was not THAT bad compared to what other teenagers do. I was not, and still am not..........: having sex, taking drugs, boozing, or mugging pensioners........ all I was doing was having a crafty fag in some old shed somewhere.
I dont mean to say what I did was right, just that some people thought I was a troublemaker and no good, simply because I smoked the odd fag, so it makes me defensive.
