no don`t think so Tracey but I heard a rumour on bettys hotpot forum that Fred and Bev were going to make Liz the rovers manager .

The Steve McDonald story was plastered all over the Daily Mirror....we shall have to see..someone will have to buy it Fred and Bev leave soon

Surely Steve's crappy half share in Street Cars is not enough money to be able to aford to buy the Rovers; and if he lost his cab licence maybe the licensing people won't let him be a pub licensee either: sounds a bit far fetched.

I don`t read the daily mirror Nick that`s why I`m not sure this is true .unless Steve and his mum Liz club together to buy the rover`s from Fred and Bev . Liz was a manager at a pub and a club before and both went bust I seem to remember so it does seem to be a bit far fetched for her to be manager.

Steve and Liz would be unlikely to get a bank loan, what with their credentials, and Steve has already sold his house to fund Karen's Chav Of The Year wedding - so where is he going to get that kind of money? Fred is a businessman, he won't let it got cheap to a mate.

Maybe they kill Jim off and he gets an insurance payment??..mind you they will have to be quick..Fred has already announced his retirement plans..
I personally don't think Fred will sell the pub..just leave Liz on as manager till the day comes when the writers can come up with a good way to pass the pub on

you're probably right, Nick. Fred will need some sort of income when they move to Rose Cottage or wherever - so they can keep taking the profits from the Rovers.
Then again, how will they be able to buy a country house without selling either the pub or Elliott's butchers? Maybe they sell the butchers, and Ashley and Claire run away from Matt Ramsden with the boys.

I would imagine Bev and Fred would be quite well off anyway..Bev will have sold her semi in the suburbs and saved money by not paying rent at the Rovers..and Fred must have made some money from the butchers and the pub..and if he has 2 successful businesses the bank will be falling over them selves to give him more cash
