Actors' Holidays

I noticed tonight that both Janice Battersby and Deirdre Barlow have suddenly turned a deep shade of coffee (though Deirdre's spouse remains pallid) . Presumably, both actors favour holidays spent sizzling in a light broth of factor 15 under a blazing sun somewhere the likes of Dubai - which of course explains the matter better than a puzzling implicit assumption that Weatherfield machinists or council administrators are able to acquire such startling tans during a 300 quid week in Fuengirola, but is deeply unsatisfactory nevertheless. Particularly when you stop to notice that Bradley Walsh, whose character has supposedly actually been away spending several weeks in the sun, has returned to work sporting his customary pale pallor.

Is this a case of un-professional standards on the part of all three actors?

You can get 20 mins supertan sun beds on most high streets for a couple of quid, so I've seen (not interested myself) so they can explain the characters' tans that way.

You can also buy many reasonably priced self-tan creams from Boots or Superdrug.

What annoys me is when you sometimes see close-up shots of Janice's hands and she is fully manicured, which is a much more expensive and time-consuming excercise than tanning, and less practical when working with sewing machines.

You are right about the skin tone, they look as if they use the same shade of Tango orange as Tony Blair.!

Mind you..I have been on hot holidays and because i don't like sitting in the sun I have come home quite pale and mysterious..on ther other hand i have stayed in britain and had a couple of days in the park and have been brown as a berry...so you never can tell..I think Janice would be the sort to spend her money at 'TanTastic' anyway

Deirdre did go on holiday with Ken a few weeks ago but I cant remember where?

Could be fake tan. I was thinking of doing that before I went to Oz but didn't. But after 5 weeks I came back red in places but still mainly my usual translucent colour.
