Go on then how many of you didn't say aah when David said he wished he was someone else. He's definitely being given a new slant to his character - and not before time .......

It would take more than one scene of being sorry to convince me that David has changed his ways.

And how many people were thinking, when David said "I don't like who I am", that "none of us likes who you are either, matey."

yes I could understand him turning such a nasty lad with the Richard Hillman thing, but he never seemed bothered about his dad . yes I agree Nick it is funny strange that Martin hasn`t returned to see David but didn`t David go to liverpool once to see Martin and came back in the sulk`s as Martin and his new wife/girlfriend was expecting a baby and that put David`s nose out of joint a bit?

Davids problem really is that he`s always been his own worst enemy. Everything bad that David has ever done to other people was to suit his own purpose. He didn`t care who he hurt in the process. I`m surprised Gail has forgiven him for him sending those cards to her. Gail is a more forgiving person that I am. I don`t buy into him still hurting over the Richard Hillman stuff. He don`t even care about his dad it seems as I haven`t seen him ask Gail if he can stay with his dad. True, Martins got a new girlfriend and a baby on the way. But if he wasn`t so damm selfish, he could still spend time with his dad if he wanted to....but he doesn`t. All he cares about is himself and what he can get away with. Even Sarah can see what he`s like. It makes me wonder what David will be like in 10 years time. Will he have settled down with a family by then or will he be in jail? Only time will tell I suppose.

I don't recall him ever having a girlfriend - maybe a bit of affection from a love interest would settle him down a bit?

that`s why he was makeing eye`s at Maria Pearly, he was interested in her, , after the shock Charlie gave him Corriegirl I think in ten year`s time he might have settled down with a family by then. the question is who would be the girl to tame David?

I just can't see the logic of the producers (I have said this before) in axing Martin when there were big storylines for David coming up that Martin would have been involved in..plus as his father he would have been over to see him and his mate Kevin

I did read something ages ago that David and Amber would become an item. I haven`t seen any evidence of that though. Thanks for the Youtube link in my email Val....it was great to watch, but painful in another way too!!!! Much appreciated.

Amber and David? What an odd couple! And plenty of scope for Dev to disapprove and do the heavy-handed father act, the hypocrite.
Yes, Nick, Martin's disappearance has been badly handled - he's only supposed to be in Liverpool not Timbuctoo, and he promised he wouldn't forget his son when he left. By the way, shouldn't his new wife (forgot the name) have had the sprog by now?

I expect she will have by now (thought she was his girlfriend not wife?) but you know whats its like, soon as a character leaves they are forgotten unless its suits them.

Bill Webster may as well have been dead for gone 15 years and yet suddenly he's back in there pitching. And how come he's on first name terms with Violet, for example, when he's presumably never met her before?

He hasn`t been gone that long Billy. Bill Webster came baclk briefly in the mid 90`s and burnt Sallys kitchen down. It wasn`t long after he met Maureen and they left together. Personally I`m enjoying Bill Webster being back. It seems more true to life somehow rather than some relative leaving and never see them again.

I totally agree - shows good continuity, and a genuine sense of realism. Similar examples that spring to mind are the recent brief re-appearance of Ray Langton, and even more recently, dear old Archie popping up to organize Fred's funeral.

I agree with both of you Corriegirl and Blackcatz, . btw don,t men call a barmaid by her first`name so even if Bill hadn,t met Violet before he could have heard Ken etc on the street makeing a drink order and saying her name, so that would be how he knew her name wouldn`t it ?.

Doesn't mean he'd know Violet though so that's not very realistic.

Kevin would have introduced her to Bill as Violet though so what else would he call her? You can meet someone and immediately be friendly towards them.

But what if he hadn't and that was the first time they'd met? It's like when people ring someone they don't know but have their phone number memorised.
