Blimey I thought they wouldnt win anything this year! Corrie have won 2 awards at the TV Times Awards 2006 - one was the Editors Choice Award and the other was Bradley Walsh for Best Soap Star! There was a photo of some of the cast with the awards, including Barbara! ;D Shame they didnt interview her though - it was Bev Callard and Simon Gregson who made the comments in the mag but Barb is holding the award! Corrie also came 3rd in the poll for Best TV Show with Doctor Who and Lost in first and second place respectively. Well Done Corrie, you have had a great year and deserve 2007 to be your year when it comes to awards!

Same as a lot of these awards (TV Quick, Soapies in Whats on TV) but its still great Corrie won.
And Doctor Who won 2 awards and they are BBC. Lost was in 2nd place and thats an import shown on C4 and now Sky One so these awards are no more biased to ITV than any other channel.

It's like the judges giving awards to Hollyoaks or whatever at the soapies purely so they get something. These other ones are just going with the flow. Others have them as winners so they do too.

Lost is this year's Desperate Housewives. So they're bound to vote it.

The trouble with American series is that they go on for months..and if the network (Fox or CBS or whatever) are getting good viewing figures and good income from advertising they tell the writers to drag it on for another season so you never get to any logical conclusion..it was the same with American Gothic and Invasion
Dominic Monaghan from Lost was on the Jonathan Ross show and he told Jonathan that the writers had got an ending, but the network wanted them to drag it on because it was a good moneyspinner

Not just months - years! That usual 7 year, 22+ eps a season crap. I think that's why I got bored with American programmes. They lost their edge going on so long. Going by what I've been reading about the last and current series of Lost, it's even more confusing than the first and they're still not getting anywhere. So that's very interesting what Dominic Monaghan says. We have the right idea. Short series and end on a high (usually). Look at Blakes 7. That was really pushing it having an unplanned 4th series so they were right ending it after that. The 4th series is dire and they really should have ended it at the end of series 3 as planned.

It put me off Lost when they said it could go on for 9 seasons (think it was that many they said anyway!)
