Would they? They really should put them against each other and see. I've thought that for years.

EE always win on Christmas Day due to the hype.
I believe Corrie would win any other days as Emmerdale Vs EE is usually an Emmerdale win, although they have the advantage of a half hour head start!
Be interesting to see how the 1 hour of Emmerdale on the 2nd Jan does - I wonder if ITV releases schedules to the mags saying a regional prog would go out at 7.30pm not 1 hour Emmerdale on purpose so that the BBC would schedule EE at 7.30pm and not 8pm!

Emmerdale only win when it's a hyped storyline like the house explosion. Other times they don't which never gets reported. I meant they should put EE and Corrie against each other at other times.
No idea. But it does show why the TV mags shouldn't be out so early.

I agree there. The mags go on sale far to early - nearly 2 weeks before the first day of listings so no wonder schedules are subject to change.
I believe the listings for 6th-12th January go on sale from today onwards - so thats 6 days early as they would normally go on sale next Tuesday.

Yep - TV Times said 29th or even sooner which means London get it sooner and the rest of us wait! Radio Times I believe said 29th as well. TV Quick and TV Choice said today but its not out yet.

It could depend on the shops. Waitrose, for instance, aren't allowed to put the earlier December ones out that particular day but other shops had them.

Yes some hold them back until they can shift the existing issues or some just put both issues out.

Be easier for everyone if they just went on sale the usual days - 19th December would have been fine for the double Christmas issues.

LOL! Id also put Reet on t'cover - Barbara a cover girl!
Why Bradley and Stacey? Even one of my colleagues who is an EE fan said they shouldnt have been on the cover of WOT when she saw the Christmas Issue as they arent even the biggest story in EE never mind all the soaps.

Stacey and Bradley are much better looking than the moribund Pauline Fowler - that's why they get the covers.
Bill Webster and Audrey Roberts are hardly Jordan and Peter in the celebrity romance stakes so they won't get it either.
They only rarely feature someone rough-looking on the covers when it's the Mitchells, who have their own 'charm'.
