Sorry for Carla - she's obviously suffering from all angles, but she never wanted a baby in the first place, and she did already know that her husband was a drunken cheater, so she can probably recover from this latest fatal disaster in her life. Unless she's charged with killing Tina - which could happen. Hopefully not. Peter, Rob, Steve, Tim - all pathetic and sneaky. Are there no strong male characters in this show any more? I know the female characters have always been bigged up as the emotionally strong and enduring characters, but the men were never this drippy/unlikeable. Where are the patriarchs? The Albert Tatlocks, the Jack Duckworths, the Ken Barlows? Ok, so the actors may no longer be with us/or have had personal issues - but Corrie hasn't had much recently in the way of influential male role models for a long time. Ok - so life is hard, and they are supposed to portraying real life - but a bit of balance please: not everyone is a murderer or an idiot. They need more characters like Mike Baldwin, Harry Flag, Fred Elliott etc to make it an enjoyable programme again.

Poor Carla but I think in the long run she will be better off..I can't see her as a single mum somehow. Much as I detest Rob I hope Peter gets a rough ride.
I know what you mean about weak spineless men pearly, than goodness Ken is back soon.

Tina's so called grieving mum was a bit wishy washy, given the situation. Ok, so they weren't close - but even so, any mother whose daughter has been murdered would be absolutely devastated. The woman we saw seemed like she'd lost her handbag on the bus, talk about bad writing and bad acting.

It's amazing the number of deaths and murders in one short block, and the cel phone reception is as dodgy as the tans...
Still, the sets aren't as wobbly as they used to be even if the acting often is. I think I keep watching (with breaks now and then) just because it's comforting somehow the old thing is still around. I might give the Goodbye Tina 'special' a miss though as the character was broken beyond repair for me when she suddenly took this great interest in supposed irresistible heart-throb Peter (who always makes me think of a young Bernard Cribbins).

Ha ha sillybint! Peter Barlow the 'heart throb' as a young Bernard Cribbins! PML! Can't see it myself, but it wasn't that long ago that Peter's step-sister Toxic Tracy did the dirty deed with the very very old Bernard Cribbins, who was playing some old rich bloke!

I did watch the Farewell Tina special just aired in Canada tonight. It's not the actress' fault the writers suddenly paired her up with Peter the serial love-rat, and it was satisfying to see both her and Chris Gascoigne express their surprise at the storyline. I still don't understand it except that Tina was on the rebound from a rebound, and Peter is, well, a serial love-rat after all.
One less dodgy tan among the Salford working-class? I hope the actress does really well on something else, and she'd better since they've made sure she can't go back.

Can't stand Les Dennis in this - it doesn't work. So - Mad Maria is back? I didn't miss her, she's a useless character, and it's time for her to go. I felt sorry for Simon - when will the poor little mite have a stable family life? Surrounded by death, drunks, fires and murders. He will be the teenage rebel nutter character in a few years, who goes off the rails - unable to express all the unhappiness in his head, so he lashes out and wrecks the street etc. etc. A bit like David Platt - a cute kid until he lost the plot.

I don't blame Fiz for one minute over not forgiving Maria. I also wouldn't push Leanne too much if I were Nick....She's a Battersby after all

That was so horrible of Nick to do that to Leanne. He's no angel either.
Gail is such a desperate pathetic needy mug: this latest loser has already robbed her - she knows he's a criminal in advance this time, but she still wants to throw herself at him. Cringe.

Phew!!! 3 weeks away, and I finally caught up on Corrie last night. Leanne doesn`t deserve that abuse. It was Nick who wanted to end it. And if it wasn`t for Leanne slogging her guts out to make sure the Bistro was kept open while Nick was in hospital - it would have closed long ago. Leanne also took time out from her busy schedule to be at Nicks bedside day and night...even giving up her parental rights temporarily just so she could care for him. If it`s a fight Nick want, then he`s got it. Leanne is entitled to half of the Bistro and half the profits too. The way he is treating Leanne is disgusting. i`d like to see Gail defend her precious son Nick against the abuse - especially now she knows Nick and David have been threatening Michael.

I don't think Nick's head injury can be blamed for his behaviour any more. I think he is just plain nasty and vicious.
Max seems out of control...what's the betting we have a 'behaviour problem' SL coming up

You know, Nick should be grateful Leanne stayed with him as long as she did. He's always been a spoiled Mommy's boy and now, his true colours are outing!
As for Max, already been reported on DS that an ADD storyline with Max is coming up. Amazing how it just all of a sudden HIT him, out of the blue. They go from normal to out of control in 2 episodes lol

And with him becoming Nick Corleone towards Michael, I can`t see him being Gails golden son for much longer. With his pettiness in changing the Bistros name, it`s only a matter of time before he loses staff and customers with his bad tempter.

At least when Alf Roberts had his head injury when a lorry crashed into the Rovers, his bad temper diminished over time. Nick seems to have gotten worse not better.

He can change the name all he wants, but in reality, it doesn't change the fact that Leanne was married to him while he owned it and ran it when he was incapacitated so thereby, deserves something out of it. Funny how he's all over Leanne for being with Kal AFTER they split up....he DID sleep with Kylie ..oh wait, that was justified even though Leanne DIDN'T sleep with Peter! UGGGH

And Nick was the one who wanted to end their marriage. It was only after they split up that Leanne and Kail(sp) got together. I had almost forgotten about Nick and Kyle. It won`t look good in divorce court for Nick. Because of all his pettiness and hateful behaviour, he could lose more than half his bistro.

Gail isn`t perfect either. I don`t recall one girlfriend of either Nick or David that Gail liked. Gail even went as far as to go into Natasha Blaketons medical file to see that she had an abortion and told Nick. I`m glad she got fired over that. Leanne is the injured party here. Nicks divorce lawyer may paint Leanne in a very bad light, but I hope Leanne gets an equally ruthless divorce lawyer too.

Their first marriage ended pretty much the same way; in heavy duty emotional abuse... and Gail sticking her oar in too of course.
