At last,it knocks spots off the others...mind you it only has Emmerdale,Eastenders,Doctors and Hollyoaks against it
its a bit rum the soap awards I think..seeing as there is only 5 that they include
you don't see them having best detective/cop show awards do you...there would be loads of competition then,....The Bill,Holby blue,Dalziel and Pascoe,Frost,Poirot,Miss Marple,Lewis,Midsomer murders,Rosemary and Thyme,Heartbeat................................................... the list is endless

Apparently Kate Ford won Best Actress  Oh dear, I really dont know what Patsy and CorrieGirl are going to say about that! ;D Let me guess - it was fixed!  And Nick, you will be pleased to know our Liam won Sexiest Male - well there could only be one winner couldnt there as he is the most beautiful man in soap. |

.....was laughing out loud so much at this I nearly p***ed myself.
Chuffed that Corrie won best soap, but in my opinion there was no other option - it's totally in a class of it's own at the moment.
Also chuffed that Kym Ryder won Best Newcomer - I think she's been fantastic from Day One; totally convincing in her role, and I sincerely hope she's here to stay - I could actually see her and Steve running the Rovers for years to come...once they've got rid of his trollop of a mother..
....but disappointed that she did not win the awards for Shiniest Hair and Biggest Eyes.

Im glad Kym Ryder won as well, but Anthony Cotton? Wouldnt have been my first choice, I actually voted for James Sutton from Hollyoaks! I also voted for Claire for Villan of the Year so glad she won. I see no-one has commented about Kate Ford on this thread!

I can go on my hols a happy man now knowing Corrie swept the board! I'm glad Kym Ryder won as well, but Anthony Cotton? Wouldnt have been my first choice, I actually voted for James Sutton from Hollyoaks! I also voted for Claire for Villan of the Year so glad she won. I see no-one has commented about Kate Ford on this thread! i voted for James Sutton as well jez, thought you would be pleased with rob winning the sexiest male best actress Kate ford?  ??well lets hope she hasn't brought a trophy cabinet!!!! could get lonely in there ;D |

The acting accolades were a joke. Simon Gregson and Sue Cleaver should feel robbed.

I didnt really like any of those Corrie put forward for actor. I think the only reason Doctors is included is to make up the numbers. Its more of a drama series than soap really. |

LOOK AT THIS BBC ARE COMPLAINING!!!
BBC executives have complained that the British Soap Awards panel had an unfair amount of representatives from ITV.
EastEnders won just three awards at the ceremony last night, while ITV1's Coronation Street went away with six, leading to criticism of the panel from BBC chiefs.
A BBC source told the Daily Star Sunday: "The panel isn't fair. It's made up of executives from ITV as well as critics and representatives from each soap. But there isn't much impartiality and a lot of the voting is tactical. It's a bit of a fix."
An awards spokesman insisted: "It's a fairly-weighted panel. The other categories are all viewer voted."
Sore loosers or what?

Maybe Anthony Cotton won because they wanted him to be a winner instead of a whiner for a change.
I don`t want to use the *F word* when it comes to AC (no not the one that rhymes with sucker, but the one that rhymes with mix), but something doesn`t sound right about his award.
There are so many actors who deserved the award more than AC...even from other soaps. Simon Gregson should have been up collecting that award instead. Or maybe even Zak from Emmerdale - he`s a wonderful actor in my opinion and dreadfully inderused.
I`m glad Tony Jordan won something....he`s the best writer out there. And if I didn`t love him for anything else, I loved him for Life On Mars.

they were all voted for even AC, so the BBC are wrong to complain I agree Ant very sore losers lol . Corrie girl yes I agree there were better actors like Simon Gregson ( but there is alway,s next year for him ) and I agree Zak is very underused as an actor in emmerdale and he is good too but there is no reason to suspect a fix is there just because AC won :-/AC still won it for Corrie . |

Oh rubbish. When BBC wins it's ITV who complains. Look at the uproar a few years ago when several Corrie stars walked out!
I tend to agree with the BBC and not because EE only got one. KF is now out of a job and suddenly wins Best Actress? If she was ever THAT good she'd have got it before now. Antony Cotton has been put up for Actor since he started and still has never really done anything. We all know with the public vote a lot tend to go for either their fave soap no matter who's nominated or who they fancy. KF and AC lost again there all this time. No awards tell you how many votes were cast so they're able to fix anything. As for the so-called panel, we know Daran Little was on it a number of years. Don't know if he still is. Then there's the critics. The likes of Twatty Baker who works for ITV and suck up. We all know which way her vote goes. How many times have Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Brookside etc been awarded a consolation prize just so they don't go home empty handed? Course it's all a fix. You only had to look at the shortlists to see that.

I think the reason Kate Ford won was because she had a big storyline which is why people voted. How Anthony Cotton won I dont know, I guess he is just really popular.
