I wont be watching this. Its a disgrace that Bradley Walsh was turned down - id have watched his show. I disagree with that actaully - I don't like the guy - and if the rumours are true, I cannot believe they are bringing him back and getting rid of Bruce Jones. I like Shaun, especially with this current storyline with Vi, but there are far too many chatshows on TV. He has said, Corrie has kindly allowed him to finish early so he can 'nip next door' to film his show. How long before his co stars complain of 'special treatment'?

Not the first time though. They've always have the 'privileged' few and it's got worse over the past five years.

So do I Jez...miles and miles. Thing is, Bradley can do crying scenes wonderfully as well as flawless comedy. Bruce Jones trying to cry ends up like he needs a laxative. It was painful to watch aye. Bruce completely ruined what could`ve been a brilliant scene when Toyah was raped. Georgia and Vicky acted their hearts out. I can`t say the same for Bruce.

I agree - Bradley Walsh breezed into Corrie, made an impression with his very first scenes, and yet fitted into the role so comfortably that it seemed he had been around for ages. Surely this is the sign of a pretty good actor?
Bruce Jones on the other hand, seems completely out of his depth in everything he does as Les, and I just cannot understand why he's been around as long as he has - it certainly isn't for his talent.

I prefer Bradley Walsh to Bruce Jones by miles. Sorry Jez, what I meant to say was, I think Bradley is too far up his own bum (To be polite) he copies people;s words, I remember when Brian Conley had to slow down as he was getting a load of migraines and said 'If I don't slow down I will be the richest corpse int he cemetry' Guess who said it next. Bradley annoyed me as Danny in Corrie, the only funny thing was his nicknames for the Underworld staff. What I meant to say was even though Les is/was a layabout scrounger, I think he would have been more popular to bring back than Danny?

I agree Blackcatz, Bradley Walsh proved to be an excellent actor. I was really surprised as I hadnt really watched him in much before Corrie - only occasionally as the host of game shows.
Sharon, I think more people would prefer to see Danny back than Les. Danny seems to be a very popular character.

All comedians steal from each other the same as writers do. I daresay a lot of jokes David Copperfield said on the QE2 weren't his own. Bradley is a natural actor and the only thing I have against Danny is he is NOT a Baldwin as Mike had no siblings. The changing to son could have just been done from the off instead of changing it all. But because they said about nephew they're all idiots so the last Baldwin in the street was Mike.
Bruce Jones was in some film pre-Corrie months ago on BBC and was awful in that.

I have a DVD called 'Raining Stones' with Bruce in it. He wasn`t bad but there were much better actors out there who could have done a much better job in my opinion.

I put this here rather than start a new thread
From Digital Spy
Corrie star Cotton gets pay rise Friday, July 27 2007, 15:21 BST
By Kimberley Dadds
Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton has signed on to stay with the soap and has been awarded £40,000 more a year than his previous contract.
The star, who plays Sean Tully in the soap, will now be paid £120,000 a year on his new 12 month contract.
Cotton, who was named best actor at this year's British Soap Awards, previously refused to sign his last contract until they raised his pay up to £80,000.
He has now been given his own 5pm chat show by ITV bosses which will start next month and bosses hope it will bring in the ratings after Paul O'Grady's show was poached by Channel 4.
A source from ITV said: "Antony is shaping up to be a real viewers’ favourite. He’s definitely worth paying out the big bucks for.”
Antony told The Sun: I love Corrie and the viewers love Sean, so it’s all a dream come true.”

Absolutely dreadful. And they gave the green light to that? ITV must be REALLY desperate. Sorry but that's a definite ratings loser! Patsy

I do think Antony is better suited to this type of show than Corrie, but still wish Bradley Walsh had got a show instead.
