5 weeks too long! Hope it's a disaster. PoG is a twat but AC is no competition.

Got this from yesterday's Sun
TELLY bosses are furious after Corrie star Antony Cotton’s new chatshow was leaked on to the net – only to be SLATED by cyber-viewers.
Gay Antony — The Street’s Sean Tully — kicks off his tea-time ITV1 show later this month.
But footage from a pilot filmed last month has been viewed on YouTube. To ITV’s further dismay, it has been widely panned, with critics suggesting it was “c***” and “b*******”.
One rated it “worse than Mrs O’s show” — a reference to Sharon Osbourne’s tea-time turkey in the 5pm slot last year.
Another sniffed that it was “a copy of Paul O’Grady” — who will be Antony’s rival on Channel 4.
Programme chiefs reckon the leak happened after they sent market researchers tapes to get their private opinions.
Yesterday they made YouTube dump the footage — claiming breach of copyright. Well, TV Biz has seen it — and it features Antony SINGING.
He kicks off the show with a camp version of Barry Manilow hit Copacabana and ends by belting out Abba track Dancing Queen with his guests.
Maybe this show it is not such a good idea after all.!

Guilty of one of the b/s comments on here at least. But it is. ITV are seriously deluded if they think that'll be a hit. Bet they change aspects now. Doubt it will be any better though. He's just not suited to the part.

They just haven't got the imagination to put anything on as an alternative to a gay man presenting a camp chat show have they..?...it drives me barmy

I hope this means they will improve it by the time it goes on air. Im supposed to be going in the audience for it on 21st August - I wont know where to look if he starts singing and acting camp like he was on that clip!

I just found this on Digital Spy if he can match Paul O Grady then it will be a great show . Antony Cotton has revealed that he hopes to match the success of Paul O'Grady when he launches his new chat show. The Coronation Street actor, who plays factory worker and barman Sean Tully in the soap, starts hosting his ITV1 series next week. "The Paul O'Grady Show is brilliant. I've been a fan of Paul's stand up all my life," Antony explained. "Paul is such a fantastic entertainer and he is fabulous at what he does, a true master of his craft." "I also enjoy watching The Friday Night Project," he continued. "Alan Carr is a terrific co-host and the show has me in stitches." That Antony Cotton Show airs at 5pm on weeknights from August 13 on ITV1.

Trouble is, Antony Cotton has all the charisma of a wet dishcloth. I'm no fan of PoG but he's a natural despite interviews ending up being about himself.

I have noticed that about Paul..he asks the guests a question and always ends up telling an anecdote about himself
and when he puts that screechy voice on I could scream myself..it irritates the hell out of me

Which only seems to have come out since dropping Lily Savage. You could see on those Carlton shows to Japan and America he was an arrogant git.

LOL! Be good if he was but then how could he have given birth to Paul's granddaughter? My dad hates PoG but that's purely because Paul's from Birkenhead and my dad's from Liverpool. LOL! Patsy

ye Gods..what a sorry shambles....at least Paul O'Grady is naturally witty and can leave the autocue..Antony Cotton read everything and came across as a right bossy piece barking 'Round of applause for the cake' like it was an order we watched the first half, then watched last nights Corrie on tape..and then caught the last 5 mins with the body painting

I caught some of it - had to FF the interview with Ray Quinn though as I cannot stand him. The titles and theme music are awful as was the introduction. It was ok in parts. I wonder if those people who participated in the body painting game were told beforehand they would be selected?
