Baldy's stalker: my money is on Mandy. it's her style, she was around in Albert Square when he set fire to the car lot and she was in Jack's flat recently looking for a lost engagement ring, and had the opportunity to snoop. She would have then also found out about the Kevin business in the process; she may have help from Ian who would love to drop Baldy in it.
Yusuf makes my flesh crawl, a twisted violent nutter - how can Zainab be so stupid? Jane and Masood snogging all over the shop was pretty gross - control yourselves, you're not kids!

In my heavy cold delerium yesterday, I was dreaming about Zaniab and Yusef where she was saying to Denise and others about how he used to treat her and set fire to her, they were saying he still does and to get out.

Caught up from the 2nd. I hadn't bothered when I was away last month because it was just too boring but Branning Week gave it a boost. Pity this Yusef this is still crap but thankfully comingto an end! Poor Zainab but Mas not getting that letter for so long was pathetic. And does City Airport have flights to Karachi? Why didn't she tell Mas he was right about Yusef and how he did start the fire? Glad Afia's rose-tinted specs are slowly coming off.
How did Squeal get a booking at Disneyland for Xmas when it would have been booked up months ahead?
So Andrew's back on the scene after Hef.
Jean's gone doolally thanks to not really being a benefit cheat.
Good riddance to Drainie! Pity Cora's still there. I think she's had a nose job. I'm sure it used to be bigger.

Well that dragged but the Yusef drivel was a vast improvement. But how the hell didn't Mas and Jane hear the old harpy screeching in the street? Mas is being very magnanimous to Afia considering if she hadn't let him go, the fire wouldn't have happened and Tambo wouldn't have been burned when his father-in-law fell on him. I'm not surprised Zainab didn't want to see her son since that was her fault.
And here goes the beginning of the end for Pat.

We went away for Christmas, and had a great time.
Now I've got hours and hours of tv recorded to catch up on.
It was all a bit too long and overwhelming to be honest, and I was only half watching, while sorting out a week's worth of laundry and junk mail.
Far too much happening at once, and I was only genuinely emotionally involved when Tamwar was burnt. His dialogue leading up to the fire was good too - it's easy to forget what a good character he is, because they never give him anything.
As for the Mitchells/Denise stuff I really don't give a damn, and I'd forgotten about the details of Baldy's cut and shut stuff. it's not very believable that Ben could have gone to such elaborate lengths without knowing the full story - I thought it would turn out to be Mandy, as she's so horrible; even so - I hope Baldy goes away for it. EE does usually punish the bad guys in the end, like Yusuf, but like you said it was very long drawn out thing, ending in yet another fire, so yawnsville all round.

Too close to home, especially the bald oncologist! But if Pat was riddled with cancer, she'd be thinner. My mum lost weight with her endometrial cancer in 2000 but didn't with her bowel/liver last year because it hadn't taken hold. So Pat will die of the pulmonary embolism they conveniently mentioned yesterday like my mum died of strokes. Just once I'd like a TRUE cancer storyline where they actually lose the weight instead of just having death-warmed-up make up.

Fair enough - they're allowed to choose, but I wonder why Zainab didn't choose Ahmed as a surname when she married Mas, rather than Masood.
And technically - if she and Mas fled Pakistan after the first fire, I doubt that a formal divorce from Yusuf took place, and she would have married Mas in England bigamously. So she's been Mrs Khan all along!
Pat does look really sick - make-up I suppose, but they can't fake dramatic weight loss in somebody her size. To make it more realistic they could have asked Pam St Clement to lose a significant (but healthy) amount of weight naturally over the last year, but disguised it with padding until her last few scenes, when she sheds the padding, and everyone is shocked by how much weight she has lost. But that's asking too much of her I suppose - even though she could do with shifting some blubber.

LOL! Unless it was just one of those weddings which go through the ceremony but not in law so technically legal. I don't think there was any certificates when she remarried him at the house. It was done and that was it. Maybe in those days you had to follow tradition and take the man's first name. It's just odd the credits now list her as Ahmed.
No. People who have seen loved ones with cancer know it's more than looking a bit ill. Why not just say Pat had a pulminary embolism in the first place and forget the cancer part?

Wend, it was good but I'm sorry, Pam St Clement was STILL crap! Parts were a little too close to home but most people will have gone through similar. Hey presto, heart did her in!
Nice scene between Pant and Gangrene. Bet bub's a girl and she calls her Patricia. LOL!
Well she did warn Ian about Mandy. He won't learn.

The EE producers milked every last drop from Pam in her final episode.
I have to say it was one of the most depressing episodes I have seen in a long time, and Pats death wasn`t convincing in the least. I`ve seen deaths in soapland that has had me sobbing for hours - Pams performance was not one of them.
One performance that stood out for me was Tanyas scene - she was very good.
So will Ian heed Pats death bed warning and keep away from Manky? I doubt it.

Nick, Pam St Clement, EE's version of Bet Lynch, isn't even a Julie Goodyear, and she's also bloody awful. The fattest person riddled with cancer EVER! She should have just had the pulminary embolism and carked it.
Wend, agree about Tanya's scenes. The rain was OTT.
LOL at Manky! No because he's desperate to be loved. I mean, come on. Only Jane seems to have been satisfied by him.

Glad that's over - it was all pretty dreadful. Pam's acting was never great, but she does 'emotional' so badly, as her real-life posh accent creeps in and she sounds ridiculous. Personally I never like Barbara Windsor's acting as Peggy either - yet the scenes between her and Pam are always quoted as EE classics, especially when they were fighting over Fwank.
I suppose her battleaxe has now been passed to the gruesome Cora, as the Square's hardbitten scary granny.
It's also inflicted on us the return of the oily David Wicks - as if there weren't enough dodgy geezers infesting Albert Square as it is.
LOL at Manky - another pointless returner who is nothing but trouble. When is Nick Cotton going to arrive - to make the set complete?
And imagine what the spawn of Gangrene and Micheal will be like - what a piece of work THAT child is going to be.

Barbara Windsor wouldn't be famous at all if she hadn't been half-naked in the Carry On films. Overrated. There have been the odd time since I watched regularly in 2005 she HAS been excellent, but then returns to hammy normal, like Pam St Clement.
Nick, don't think so. There were rumours Nick Berry would surface for the funeral but it appears not.

Not very likely that the whole of the EastEnd would go into mourning for Pat - most of them had fights with her at one stage or another; also unlikely that Derek would growl at a noisy van driver to show some respect - he hated her more than anyone else. He is such a repulsive character, I hope he's not permanent.
The cops in Walford really are terrible - they must have some record of investigating Kevin Wick's death at the time, if the car was dodgy, and there would be fingerprints etc. and now they've got a taped confession, and they still can't charge Baldy with anything.
