I don`t know if anyone else is having the same probems with this site as I am. But I can`t stay on this site more than 5 minutes before my pc locks up and I have to reboot the pc. And it`s onlt this site I am having trouble with. I don`t have any probs with my pc until I come to this site and then sure enough my pc locks up. i could stay away from days on end and wouldn`t have to reboot once, but when I come here - it happens again I`ve noticed I have over 1000 posts now. But if I had posted before the pc locks up, i`d probably have close to 3000 posts I`m sure. It`s really agrivating i came on here earlier, the pc locked up. When I came back online I did an ad aware scan. i have 15 critical posts. I came here again...pc locked up. Again I did an ad-aware scan and had 8 critial errors I deleted...and this was the only site I had been on. I did a virus scan twice and they both came up clean. Please help before I chuck this pc through the window

I really have no idea what the problem is. Do you have loads of pop up blockers and stuff like Juanita does? There were so many things I couldn't even look at on her computer when I was there. She has ad-aware and that could be the problem with the amount of advertising on here. Though I must admit, Juanita has that and I didn't have any probs. It's all very strange. I hope someone knows and can help. Patsy

This is very strange. The fact it does it on just this site and no other makes me wonder if there is something on this board which maybe causes it ?

I have a pop up blocker on here Pats. I somehow suspect our video card....gonna get a new one this week even though this video card is only 11 months old. If it still happens then we`ll probably have a new hard drive.

Sorry to hear about your computer problems CorrieGirl. I too think its strange it only happens on this site.
I am hopeless however at solving problems to do with PC's but understand how annoying it can be.

There could be. I know on some sites even my 2 pop up blockers let them through.
I remember you had a problem a while ago, Sooty. I don't understand computers at all. As long as they work I'm happy.

I love this site and I love the people It`ll take more than a pesky pc to keep my away. Where else in cyberspace could I vent my spleen at certain times of the month and get away with it? ;D

I remember you had a problem a while ago, Sooty. I don't understand computers at all. As long as they work I'm happy. Patsy God, did I ever, it nearly drove me mad. I have now got so many anti things on it, including a good firewall. Seems to have done the trick....Fingers well end truly Xd.

you should run adaware and spybot at least once a week on your PC, and regulary empty your cache and your your cookies.........
The fact that its doing it only this site, may indicate that there is a coding problem somewhere in the headers and footers, that is conflicting with your PC

No problems, had a quick look at the some of the codes here, and I think it could be them take this one..
<center><font color="green"><center> Once you have registered, if you have trouble getting your password please check your junk email folder as it is sometimes sent there. If you are still having problems please <a href="mailto:tvmessage.boards@gmail.com">email the admins by clicking here</a> and we will see what we can do. Thank You!</font> <br><marquee><font size="2" color="#990099"><i>Love talking TV?</b> Then</i> <a href="http://lanekent.proboards44.com/index.cgi"> UK TV Past & Present Message Boards</a> <i>might be for you!</i></marquee> </p><br/>
none of it makes sense, why is there a <center><center> at the top for, to center anything the code is <center>then you out your text in here and then only ater you have finished and all other text is in place do you close the tags like this </center>...then you have got font colour which is wrong as there no hex code, then you have something about font size as well, that is wrong too
now if that code is on all your skins then thats causing some conflict
take that code out of all your skins, and replace it with this one
<center><font color=008B00>Once you have registered, if you have trouble getting your password please check your junk email folder as it is sometimes sent there. If you are still having problems please<a href="mailto:tvmessage.boards@gmail.com">E mail an Admin</a>who will do there best to help you</font></center>

I know nothing about codes so didn't do that one. I'll get onto the moderator that did and tell her to her to read what you said. Patsy

Not as much as me ;D
I`ve had quite a few computers in the past 10 years. All the way from a Windows 3.1 to Win XP and I`ve never known this problem before. One of these days I will suss out code ...it looks so overwhelming though

Hun the code has nothing to do with your computer it is to do with this site, for to customize the site so it looks like this, you use codes in the site, within the headers and footers, this has nothing to do with your computer hun....
Now who ever put the codes in has got the codes a little bit mixed up, and so your PC cant understand them and so it cant read the code properley, as the codes tell your PC what to do, what images to see, what text to see etc etc, and so if these codes are wrong, your pc cant read them, so shutting itsself down, for its own protection ....
thats why its only happening on this site for as the codes are wrong.
I hope i have explained that a bit better

I've emptied my cookies a few times (maybe twice in four years!). But not any of the other stuff. I have Norton, but it doesn't work anymore because some of the files got coruppted or something!

I don't either and don't have any anti-virus. Waste of money because you always have to update it. I empty my files, run spy-bot now and again and that's it. Juanita had adaware on her computer and it drove me crackers because it blocked practically everything that pops up her pop up blocker didn't.

Every week I clear my internet files, run AntiSpy, run Anti Virus, and Defrag. All of which come free with BTYahoo. I also have a good firewall.

Norton is crap............ I use free spyware, that is the most important thing you can run on your machine.. google ad- aware its free and so is AVG run these once a week and you will be amazed at how much your pc runs faster , its of utmost important that you run ad-aware its free as well, just click download on this link www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
