She doesn't do tears. Any wet is painted on my make-up to make it look like she can. It always disappears and not replaced by real ones. Anne Kirkbride used to be able to but since being around her even her acting's got to pot.

After rewatching Monday's episodes (im going to watch Friday's again later!) I noticed Anne Kirkbride wasnt that good in quite a few scenes. She used to be a fantastic actress in the 70s/80s and Deirdre was probabaly in my top 5 fave characters from those era's but yes she seems to have gone to pot as you put it!

She was really excellent years ago. Compare her scenes with Tracy when she was partly responsible for Samir's death to over the past couple of years. She is dreadful now.

I noticed she has been quite bad recently. Why she gets to be the highest paid over Barbara I dont know. Its funny how I can tell a mile off when some people are putting in bad performances like Anne, but cant always with Kate Ford!

And why they said she was a great asset with those performances is also a mystery. I think though it's because she signed 14 months rather than 12 it makes her higher paid.

But why 14 months? It doesnt make sense. I would have thought though as she has been in it over 30 years she would be safe (same as Bill, Barbara, Eileen, Betty). I cant see them axing her.

Ann has never been that good but of late is slipping into the mire. I hope they kill her off.

Hi there marmite. Welcome!
I've gone off the character in recent years really, from quite liking her during the whole Deirdre being sent down thing to her just being one of the regulars who don't do a whole lot, but aren't too bad.
I doubt they will kill her off for a while yet, as she has apparently just sined a 14 month contract.

I thought Anne was excellent and Deirdre a fantastic character in her early days on the show.
In this weeks episodes her acting was laughable in some scenes, she was worst than Kate Ford!

No one's worse than KF. But she is pretty bad since she joined. Deirdre has turned into a joke now thanks to her overacting.

I bet they do give her something in the soapies this year - Best Bitch or Best Exit or even Best Storyline with Bill Ward.

I think she will be one of the 3 nominated this year though, and possibly make the final 4.

Oh of course she will be. They'll make sure of it. Same names. However if she's up against Natalie Cassidy she'll have a run for her money.

Tracy is no longer the evil bitch. If nothing else last night's final scene showed that she had crossed the line well and truly and become a cold blooded murderer. There is a huge difference that I hope the writers realise what they have done? This character is not redeemable. I saw some of Friday's and all of last night's having not watched Coronation Street in 6 months or more. Seeing was believing. The final scene in last night's episode was proof enough that this was completely pre-meditated, calculated down to the finest last detail and whatever Charlie had done, he was a saint compared to her. Anyone who has never watched Corrie before would of got it all from the final hospital scene last night. It was chilling.
The description villain doesn't come close. If we didn't already know Tracy is a criminal through and through and this is Kate Ford's swan song. They will no doubt have to give her something. But she has now crossed territory that not even Kim Tate would of dared to cross. So no bitch is not something Tracy Barlow is now. We can never call her a bitch again. She is beyond that.
Charlie wouldn't of battered a woman nor would he plot a murder. How the announcers can still ask who is worst?
Tracy's days on the street are finished. She either has to go on the run, be banished from the street forever by the residents (if not the courts) or she has to go down for life.
Steve Frost's comments back last July were interesting and are coming into play now. He said he hoped Tracy would be back one day but made no mention of Kate. I think it has to be a long time before Tracy ever returns and then it is as a murderess trying to patch her life up. 20 years time perhaps? Anyone will be able to play Tracy then.
If Kate Ford is seen again as Tracy it will be in cameo spots from jail.
The only future Tracy now has is either cameo guest spots in prison or to return with a new head in twenty years, having done her time and seeing how a murderess adjusts to life after the time.
Very clever on Steve's part. Not killed Tracy off but done the next best thing.
Bext EXit or storyline for Tracy. Poor Charlie all he did was cheat on her and she has concocted an elaborate plan of murderess revenge. Only one flaw with this story. Tracy Barlow isn't that clever.

Thats true Lane. However if she gets found out she is obviously not as clever as she thinks she is!
I agree that Charlie isnt as bad as she is - but dont forget he is no saint. He was horrible to Shelley and was a verbal/mental bully rather than physical.
