As you say, a fair result (and not before time).
Christine seems a genuinely sweet girl, but her dancing just wasn't on the same level as the other four.
Looks like we have a real competition now - no clearcut leaders as far as I can see.
On a personal level, I'd like Rachel or Tom to win.

It's not as clear cut as last year..everyone knew Alesha would win...but this year it could go either way between the final four couples

There was a real difference between Christine's dancing and the other four, so it was no surprise to see her voted off.
I think Rachael is the judges favourite, they don't seem too keen on Tom though.
I think it is too close to call as to who will win.
I don't mind who wins.......as long as it isn't Lisa.

A fair result I thought.
Austin was brilliant at the start of the series, but I don't feel he's improved as much as the others over the weeks - stayed rather static.
Still not overly keen on Lisa (can't stand Brendan), but has to be admitted that she has probably improved the most of all the celebrities.
I now want Rachel to win - I think she and Vincente have a really sweet relationship, and she looks a genuine professional now (so says my beloved, who is ex-competition dancer). Funnily enough Vincente is being much gentler and less macho with her than with any of his previous partners.
One thing that annoys me tho' is the rather anti-Rachel feeling in other forums -'she's dull, she shows no emotion'.
WTF? Her dances with Vincente have been the only ones that have sent a tingle down my spine - I think they look truly fabulous.
Wouldn't be totally distraught if Tom won tho' - he's probably been the best 'entertainer' out of everyone (no doubt brought on by his acting ability).
The closest series we've ever had?

I think it is the closest series too...everyone knew Alesha was going to win last year and Mark the year before that...but its not so cut and dried this year

I thought it was terrific last night, and was sad to see Austin go.
Is is much too close to call, but according to one board, it is being geared up by the judges for Rachael to win.
I like her and I hope it is both her and Tom in the final.
I thought Lisa's jive was awful, and I hope she goes out this Saturday.
That Argentinian Tango looks hard though.
It's worth noting that there is no results show on Sunday. It will be all shown on Saturday.
Seemingly, Sports Personality ( Now there's a contradiction in terms ) of the Year is on.

They said the reason that the voting was frozen was because that because Rachel and Lisa both tied fro first place they both got 3 points..while Tom being 3rd got 1 point so there was no way he could not be in the dance off....well isn't that the way it goes..he would have been in the dance off with either Rachel or Lisa

There are a lot of comments on the Strictly board about the judges voting so that there will be an all female final.
Tom has not been as popular with the judges !
I think the beeb suddenly twigged on that every vote for Tom was pointless because the two females had tied.
In any event IMO, if Tom and one of the females had been in the dance off.........the judges would have voted to kick him out.

My view too - up to last week he was brilliant, but last week both girls outperformed him, and in both dances.

What a great final!
I was a little disappointed that Rachel didn't win, but Tom and Camilla's showdance was fantastic, and a couple of newspapers had hinted that Tom could win it, so I wasn't too surprised.
Great performance from the past winners, nice turn by Duffy, overall just a great evening's entertainment.
Without doubt the closest series we've had, only slightly tarnished by the JS fiasco.
For me they were all winners:-
Rachel & Vincent - probably best overall, and certainly most consistent.
Tom & Camilla - best 'dramatic' performances, and really great showdance.
Lisa & Brendan - most improved over the whole series.

A terrific final, I loved every minute of it. I was totally convinced that Tom would be first to go. ( if it had been left to the judges he would have. ) Once Lisa had gone, I didn't mind who won. I have voted for both Tom and Rachael previously, but the showdance got Tom my vote. I do hope next year that both segments of the show are on a Saturday night......and that it is on at a later time. I am looking forward to the Christmas day special now.  |

We only saw the first part of the show
I don't understand how Tom won....Rachel and Lisa both had 3 points and Tom had 1 point
If Tom came first with the viewers vote he would have got 3 points totalling 4..if Rachel came second with the viewers and got 2 points she would have had 5 and if Lisa was third she would have ended up with 4 points as well...so how did Lisa get voted off in third place she would have been equal with Tom?

I have just read that Arlene Phillips has been axed from SCD to be replaced by Alesha Dixon....why? Arlene is a choreographer with years of dancing experience and has trained thousands of people in dance,she knows all about the different dances and the technicalities...whereas Alesha is a pop star who won the show a couple of years ago...what possible expertize could she bring to the show apart from saying everyone was great...she won't know what moves and foot work etc.. to look for Aparantley they are hoping it will bring in a younger and more ethnic audience  |
