Oh yes. Adrian said they banned him. Well the next is Stockton in November and if he's not there then it'll be 3 years. Haven't seen him since Stockton 2002. I know he's down for a Cardiff one (or is it Swansea?) in September. #sadd0002# Don't think so. But 15 years ago (crikey!) a work collegue used to call me Deirdre because of my big glasses. LOL! Patsy Do you still keep in touch with Adrian? I miss the Plus Forums. LOL! A colleague of mine used to have BIG glasses and people said she looked like Deirdre Rachid - she has contacts now however

No. No idea where he's gone either. Hope he still had a job.
LOL! I hate anything in my eye so stick with the goggles. I'd probably lose contacts anyway.

Was he employed by GSB or ITV? I only wear glasses when im at work ot at home using the computer but I usually forget to put them on! Id proabably hate contacts too.

GSB. He was worried about his job and hoped to get one with ITV.
I hated them but it was vanity in my teens. Just got fed up not being able to see things clearly. LOL! Must get my eyes tested. My dad said the other week he'd take the old camcorder in for repair and make an appointment for the optician at the same time. He hasn't budged. I'll have to remind him. Mind you, if he had and I'd got one this week, I wouldn't have been able to go. LOL!

Get lasered Patsy, it's fantastic. After years of goggles I saved up and about 3 years ago I got 'em fried. I won't say I wasn't nervous, but I'm glad I did it now. For abour 3 months afterwards i get pushing non- existant glasses back up on the bridge of my nose.

I have thought about that but isn't it expensive?

Yes, but I calculated the projected cost of sight tests and prescription glasses for the next 50 years so I decided that getting the Lasik was a good investment. I would particularly recommend it to Claire, as her specs are a fright, and if she hadn't given Cilla nearly a grand then she could have afforded it.

Well I dont not wear them for vanity reasons, I probabaly look more intelligent when wearing them LOL! But I just forget. I need to have an eye test too, work pay for one a year as I spend so much time looking at computers.

Part of the flipping expense is they don't let you just buy the lenses and have them put in your old frames. My original optician had no problem with that but he closed down. I'm going to try Specsavers this tme because I'm always forgetting my sunglasses so want those Reactions lenses. Maybe when I've saved up I'll go for the laser. But I think I look better with glasses. I look like my mum without them! Patsy

Coward! LOL! You know what I look like. I only had one pair break and that was in 1998 and plastic frames. Snapped right in half and I didn't have any spare. My dad was my guide dog over to town and I couldn't even see the bus until it had stopped in front of us. LOL! The woman in the opticians felt sorry for me so rushed through my 2nd pair (buy 2 get one free it was so I got some sunglasses as well) which would have normally taken a week. Patsy

Add me as another who is part of the 'Deidre barlow glasses brigade" ;D I have been wearing them since I was 11, and would dearly love laser surgery so that I won`t have to wear cumbersome glasses again. I used to wear contacts (the gas permeable ones) but they used to hurt my eyes something awful. I do like the ones Deidre is wearing now though.

Yes, thank goodness smaller ones are back in fashion and making wearing glasses 'cool'. I should have worn them since I was 11 but had horrible NHS ones and so didn't. I did a bit more at 15 but never at school when I should have so I could see the blackboard from the back! LOL!

How about going red? I prefer big sunglasses because they block out more light but never get them. Patsy

Oh yes. Highlights are horrible. I remember the big craze for blonde ones in the 80s and a lot of people looked like they had grey streaks.
How about Joan Collins-esque?

Claire sat on the portholes and is now getting new ones. They surely can't be as grotesque as the ones she broke. She was also very masterful dealing with Mark and Robbie the two little horrors in Lloyd's car. How come the kids were allowed to shout for (and advertise) Mars Bars, Smarties, kit Kats and Polos when the show is sponsored by Cadbury's?
