Yes there is very good chemistry between them. That scene with Paul intimating to Kelly he had someone in Perdy's hearing I thought a little contrived.
Can Carl's eyes bulge any more? He's almost outranking Matthew!

It was very stupid of Paul to do that. Very stupid. I am sure if he knew Perdy would have thought anything of it, he wouldn't have done it though.

Well done to the Emmerdale writers on ruining one of the finest new characters they have got, Grayson Sinclair, by turning him into Gayson Sinclair. I've seen some ridiculous character changes in my experience of watching soaps, but this one is quite something. It is almost like the idiots running the show actually saw a few posts on Digital Spy and ran with it, without thinking at all about how they represented the character when he first came into the show. When the Sinclairs joined the show, they were, and in Rosemary and Perdy's case, very, very promising. Grayson was seen as a ladies man and as that is what the original character breakdown was for the character, we saw him make a few remarks about Sadie, towards Jo, and more subtly Louise, all while seeming to enjoy a very convincing phyisical relationship with the woman he was married to. Now I am no expert on gay men, but I am not sure they enjoy cosying up to women... hmm, I don't know where I could have come up with that theory. Then, as if by magic and almost overnight, he went out cruising and was beaten up, then started making eyes at men. It might wash with some of the gay viewers, who take advantage of a male-male love affair, because they happen so rarely, but to the more eagle eyed viewers, it is simply an unrealistic character and storyline direction, either to make Grayson more convincing as a suspect in the ludicrous Who Killed Tom King storyline, or to simply tarnish a typically straight character with the gay brush, (Jasmine and Debbie anyone?). There was more potential for Grayson as a ladies man, especially considering the amount of slappers in the show. Louise, Jo, Kelly, Chas etc, but what is on offer for him as a gay character? Oh Paul... the most boring character in the show, played by the worst actor who couldn't even make a drag queen entertaining. Now I cannot take the character of Grayson seriously and it is a waste of the chemistry he has with Perdy to make him a gay man. Gay man don't find straight women a sexual turn on and they have hardly written this couple as prudish in the last year. Oh but they will now so we don't notice. If he was written as a character with an addicitive personality and that sex is just part of an addiction, I'd find it plasuable, but as of now, they've ruined him. They might as well just turn his mother and his wife into lesbians and have themselves a gay partay. Memo to the Emmerdale writers. Some of your viewers tend to watch the show with their eyes open, maybe you should follow suit and stop changing characters to boost unrealistic storylines. I agree with much of what you have said, Yasmin. Gay men certainly wouldnt check out women in that way or cosying up to them. However he must surely be bisexual as they would go for both men and women. Cruising is quite realistic for gay men, especially those in the closet or lonely. I wish they would introduce better gay characters, just normal people who have every day storyline, just happen to be gay. But they always have to make being gay an issue.

Glad you said that, Jezziekins. I didn't want to come over as homophobic these days by saying pretty much the same thing. Everything has to be an issue due to political correctness. They can't do it properly. Have to have the obligatory whatever otherwise they're accused of racism, homophobia or whatever. Yet there are many places in the country where ethnic minorities and gays don't live. They can't see that. We have a mutual gay friend and he's fed up with these issues too.

Being gay is only an issue because other people make it like that. They say it isnt natural because 2 men cant have kids - thats a pathetic excuse. No wonder so many gay men get depressed or attempt suicide or just stay in the closet.
As for crusing, well I have never been cruising, but have seriously considered doing it a few times, it was the fear of getting queer bashed or arrested that stopped me.
I dont see why you could be accused of being homophobic Yasmin, you havent really said anything anti gay. You are just referring to the scriptwriters in a soap turning a "straight" character gay and how its unrealistic. The only way they can get around this is to say he is bisexual.

As Graham Norton says, the only difference between a gay man a bi is 4 pints. LOL!
It's like so much these days. You have to do this, you have to do that. TV producers are being told what to do by on high, who are in turn told by the government.

Not surprising at all, Yasmin. Some people have too many issues to see beyond their noses. You stick to your guns, girl. Jez, you're obviously drinking the wrong stuff. Patsy

I expected more. I expected some of the morons from the Emmerdale Discussion who keep banging on about a gay wedding between Paul/Grayson to come on and say something, then I realised... intelligent conversation is beneath them

Gay wedding? Are they serious. It annoys me when gay men on a forum I visit go on and on about hoping a famous person is gay - like they would stand half a chance anyway.
I see someone asked why you tape every episode - why do they think! You are a fan. I used to tape every episode of Corrie but it lasted 5 months as I got bored so now just tape important ones.

That first reply is from a moron. There are lots of gay men actively having sex with women because they're still in the closet! Knows nothing so can't be gay.

I know I am probably being a bit OTT, but there was something really good about Gray/Perdy and I could have seen him have an affair with Louise, Jo, Kelly etc... now it has limited him.

Yes but the way they always go with these storylines is the new-found gay one goes off with someone else. Sonia in EE, Todd in Corrie.

But Grayson seems to depend on Perdy. She seems the stronger one of the two on the outside but on the inside, it could be different.

Maybe they will bring in a new gay character for Gray to have an affair with? Id volunteer to play the role! lol
Ive been reading through that thread Yasmin. I have to say in my experience I dont agree that there are very few people who are 100% gay or 100% straight. The prison thing is a poor argument as when you are locked up it cant be a normal situation. Just because you have sex with someone of the same sex doesnt make you gay anymore than if I had sex with a woman. Who you are attracted to is what your sexuality is.

Oh God, that was a poor excuse.
Most of them believe Gray is bisexual.

I think he might be bisexual - we will have to see if he has affairs with men or women in the future. If both then he is bisexual, but he might just stay with Perdy.
