Appologies if this has probably been mentioned before, and I bet it has!!!
I`ve only just started watching Emmerdale again after an 18 month absence. I know most of the characters in Emmerdale, but there are a few who are new to me.
For instance, who is that bloke who took Diane out to the casino the other day? I recognised him straight away as the pilot Nigel Croker in Mile High. What is the character he plays in Emmerdale and what connection does he have in the Dales?
What happened to Sam Dingle? I know his wife Alice died, but I was wondering if he has left too.

Sam's still there with little baby Samson.
The bloke was Grayson Hyde-Sinclair, Rosemary's son and Perdy's hubby who they turned gay.

Ah I knew id seen the actor who plays Gray in something before - I remember Mile High - he was quite dishy in that too! lol

I don't believe there will be a fling anyway.
Grayson just wanted company on his gambling trip, and Diane just wants non-stop excitement (as she's already admitted).
They both had their own reasons for keeping it quiet from their partners, hence all the giggling, and 'nod, nod, wink, wink' stuff.
No more to it than that.
Oh, and just to add my two pennorth - I think Grayson is bi-sexual.

More filling in the gaps please. In the recent Emmerdale, it was mentioned that Billy (I think) Hopwood is being released from prison. I sussed out he was Andy and Daz`s dad and that he killed Vivs first husband. When did this happen, and what was the reason Billy Hopwood killed Vivs first hubby? I couldn`t find anything abou tit in the Emmerdale websites.
And talking of Viv...what in the world is she playing at wearing high heels whilst pregnant? Apart from the fact it must be so uncomfortable with swollen feet and ankles. But its so dangerous too. If Vic should trip in those heels, she could fall and damage her and the babies.

do you remember when there was a post office robbery in emmerdale Corriegirl, just shortly after the post office was put into the shop? (I,m guessing it happened in the 70s) well Billy Hopgood (yes he is Andy and Daz,s dad) was the robber who shot Vic (Vivs first husband) in that robbery he shot him (like Ernest Bishop in the factory in coronation street) , for the money but did not mean to shoot him. Viv is such a shorthouse she need,s the heels , but I agree it is idiotic and dangerous to wear them while she is pregnant ,she seem,s to be still drinking too that is plain stupid and dangerous while your pregnant too. |

I didn`t watch Emmerdale Farm as it was known then Val. My mother was a huge fan though.
I watched it on the 80`s when Jackie Merrick was in it until I left the UK in 1989. I became hooked again in the 2001 or 2002 when CBC Canada started showing episodes where Andy Sugden knocked down the headmistress of the school.

So was mine. I used to be lifted back over the fence from playgroup (it was right behind the end of our garden) and watch it with her. My earliest memory is Christine Sugden walking out on Joe in 1974! How I hated that woman. LOL!

I was 8 when Emmerdale started in 1972, I can remember being facinated by Amos Brearlys 'pork chops' on hiis cheeks lol
I can even remember Annie Sugdens father Sam. Hey Val I liked Matt Skilbeck too and can remember him courting Dolly Acaster for years. I thought Joe Sugden was gorgous
