Why do we do it. We know other countries hate us.
Total humiliation again. Why don't we just withdraw gracefully. It wouldn't matter if Gary Barlow wrote our tune...we would still end up in the bottom three.
And think of the money we could save.!!

Good grief...Blue.....!! It wasn't the singer last year that was bad..it was the piss poor song written by Pete Waterman's 'Music By Numbers' factory

I had the misfortune to catch some of This Morning er, this morning, and they were banging on about the fan base and comparing to Cliff, Sandie etc. But Eurovision wasn't bloody political back then! Well not AS political. Music still counted.

I thought Blue were a defunct band ? so I don't suppose it will harm them to do this.
AnywayIt doesn't matter who we have to sing we will come bottom.
Far better to withdraw completely, but they won't want us to do that....we put up most of the money for the wretched competition.

Still won't win because they all hate us. NO ONE wants to host it because of the expense. What's the betting one of the PIGS countries wins then they'll have to borrow more money and be indebted more to the corrupt EU?

Should point out that this is not my sort of music at all - just love the whole ridiculous spectacle of the thing.
Overall a good show - Graham Norton was right in saying that the semi-finals had weeded out the rubbish.
Thought Blue performed well, and deserved a place in the top 10 at the very least.
However, we couldn't understand how Azerbaijan won - altho' the semis had sorted out the cr@p, we thought this was one of the weakest songs of the 25!
Scandinavians are now even more blatant in their 'neighbourly' voting than the Eastern Bloc countries - diabolical!
All that said - a good night's entertainment, great production, and no REALLY naff tunes.

Graham Norton bores me. There were more humorous comments on Twitter about the clothes, songs and acts than he made. He also would gabble and made his Ireland bias clear on more than one occassion. We need someone else. The Moldovan Garden Gnomes should've won for the hats alone! The Ukrainian sand vampire was clearly to distract from the awful song sung by Baby Jane Hudson. Greece was awful! Not as bad as the Twat Twins but bad enough. The only reason I can think of for them both getting so many votes was either so many tone deaf/kids voting or fixed to try and bankrupt the countries completely! I loved Italy's entry. It was my favourite and I'm glad that was second. Even he was easier to understand than the Twat Twins! Can we now get a Super injunction to ban them? Iceland's was a good feelgood song too. As Dr Who Online said on Twitter at results time, this reminds us why we hate it! Patsy

twitter.com/#!/linerlovers Scroll down for my comments last night. I also retweeted Dave Monk's (a journalist who I met at Steve Read's funeral) about Greece. It was the comment of the night! Patsy

This is the first year I have watched this for a long time. I was pleasantely surprised how better organised it was ( not having to suffer all through the minor votes for one thing )
Still a lot of cringe worthy moments though.
I would have posted sooner but it's taken a while to recover from watching Moldova. ;D
I loved the sand painter ( Can't remember the song. )
My favourites were Russia and Iceland.

That was the problem. The sand artist made your attention focus on her and not listen to the song so it was obviously bad. LOL!

I agree ..theres too many gimmicks..years ago people got on sang their song and got off...they didn't need unicyclists, sand painters, escapologists, flower arrangers or lion tamers

I have just read that Engelbert Humperdinck is to represent the UK in this years Eurovision !!!!
I think it's a great if not unusual choice and wish him luck

He's certainly going to need it Nick.
I just hope he realises that it doesn't matter how brilliant the song is....he hasn't a snowballs chance in hell of winning. ;D

It`s great news about Englebert, I would love it if Cliff Richard did another Eurovision. Or even Lulu again. The old un`s...er... more mature singers can still pull a decent crowd. Look at Tom Jones for instance - nearly 72 and still belting out great tunes.
