Well this is it.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFNv9pjqZkkI don't think it's too bad..it's certainly better than Jemini,Josh,Rikki,Black Lace,Sweet Dreams and other various no hopers we have had to represent us over the years

I like it - I like it a lot. Englebert still has a great voice.

The Beatles could represent the UK and we still won't win.
I think it's time the songs weren't heard until the night.

OMG! What's he done to his face? He's become a cross between Johnny Cash and Ken Dodd! Patsy

Never been a fan of Engelbert (just not my sort of music), but must admit I like this - gentle, haunting, might just be in with an outside chance.

He was on the One Show earlier with a weird accent towards the end.

Another bitter dissapointment 25th out of 26
The song was lovely but I felt Engelbert let us down...he has been performing for 50 years and he just didn't sing the song well
And i didn't think Sweden was anything special

Awww sod it. I had hoped bringing a big name into it would help the UK`s chances. Obviously not.

Yes - Engelbert's performance wasn't brilliant, and he was obviously at a disadvantage going on first.
However, I disagree about Sweden - I really rated their entry, and was pleased it won. Interesting, unusual performance, and I can easily see that tune being remixed as a dance anthem.
Thought the show overall was 'so-so' compared to recent years - good performances but not many stand-out songs; the second half of the running-order was better in general than the first.
Update:- have just checked, and there are already loads of remixes of Euphoria (maybe I should be a music producer! ;D)

I just felt that there were a lot of songs that seemed to be aiming at the 18-30 Ibiza crowd

I was disappointed the 'Humph' did so badly (but not surprised knowing how the other countries love us.!)
I watched up to the woman ... I think she was from Albania, screamed her way through the song...then I switched off.

Prince William could be our entry and we still wouldn't win. Personally, I think songs should NOT be heard until the night and there should be none of these advance programmes. People have already made up their minds by media coverage. It was different pre-internet.

I think we should pull out of this so called contest....the other countries would moan then if our money was no longer supporting it !!

I think the contest has lost something now they have the semi finals.
Before the semi's were introduced chances are you wouldn't have seen any of the entrants (unless you were a die hard fan) and there would be a few OMG or ' What On Earth' moments but you don't get that now and the worst of the worst are filtered out in the semi's and all you get left with (with the odd exception) is a dreary heart felt ballad or a Euro disco song
What has happened to to the likes of eccentrics like Stefan Raab, Guido Horn, Ping Pong and the songs that are so bad you cringe and laugh at the same time?
All gone thanks to the semi's....it's just not the same...SIGH

Not really a Eurovision fan myself, but I did see this year's one as I was invited to a barbeque party organised by die-hard fans. It was mostly awful - especially Englebert, and Graham Norton wasn't nearly as bitchy as I was expecting/hoping for. He did mention that it was probably only Russia or Sweden who could afford to host next year's contest - so no wonder they cleaned up. I liked Norway - who came nowhere, and the last one, I think it was Moldova with the funny dancing. As for the Russian grannies - if you closed your eyes it was quite a toe-tapping little number - it was the sight of them, jigging about and baking cookies that ruined the illusion!

19th..another bitter dissapointment...I think it's time that the big 5 (UK, Italy, France, Spain and Germany) stopped putting up nearly all them oney..and if a country can't afford to stage it then they shouldn't enter
It should be scaled back it's getting far too big..and the UK and the other big 4 should take their chances in the semi finals like everyone else

Winner nothing special - pretty girl, but tune distinctly average.
Loved the Dutch entry - but far too good and too unusual to win!
Also liked French and Norwegian entries.
Bonnie Tyler deserved better marks, but about par for the UK!
Good show - excellent production, very talented presenter, absolutely NO completely naff entries (with the possible exception of the Finnish one), good performances all round.
Show much improved since they've speeded up the 1-7 points allocation. (How long ago did they start doing that? 2/3 years ago?).
TBH I don't really care that much any more about the results - everyone knows about the political voting, and I can't see any way of changing that.
I still enjoy watching for the pure, daft spectacle of the thing.

I'm glad we don't win....at least then we don't have to dish out sheds full of money (which we don't have) to host it ;D

Greece should have won. It was memorable. Anyone remember the Danish one? But they'll make sure they DON'T win otherwise the euro will go bust. LOL! Poor Bonnie sounded like a bloke after Dracula. Everyone (bar Bonnie and some of the Greek ones) were plastic stick insects going for the 18-30 Ibiza crowd mentioned by Nick last year. Did you notice everyone was miming? Better when it was live. Also better before you had these semi-finals and countries not in the final voting. I also think there should be NO advance publicity of these songs, first reveal on the night. With modern technology people have made their minds up so they may as well save the money hosting and just put YT vids up in the contest.
Nick, we did better than Germany. LOL!

Listing all my parents records to try and sell them and found my mum bought Looking High, High, High by Bryan Johnson, which came 2nd in 1960 with 25 points. LOL!

Think there were only about ten countries in the competition in the early years! 'Are you sure' was a nice tune - The Allisons sounded like the UK'S answer to The Everly Brothers.
