To qualify to enter Eurovision you have to be a member of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) Israel are..so are Egypt, Syria, Morocco and a few other Arab countries who could enter if they wanted to

Terry had them sussed and it ruined it for him I think. Graham Norton is still no Terry.

Personally I think Graham Norton has been a great replacement for Terry Wogan. I never rated Terry Wogan much in anything he did, but in presenting Eurovision, he was at his worst - patronising, self-satisfied and smug. Eurovision is and always was complete rubbish, fixed voting notwithstanding, but great entertainment nevertheless, and IMO Graham Norton has been much, much better in taking a secondary role and letting the lunacy speak for itself. Terry Wogan seemed more intent in making it all about himself. ...and on that note -

Managed not to hear any yet, and made a point of NOT watching the heats - we want it all to be a pleasant/unpleasant surprise on Saturday!

I'm not so sure Sooty... as much as I didn't want to like it, their song is quite good .... and Russia provides most of eastern Europe with gas and oil so they will all vote for them ... they did get a boo at their semi final appearance

Bjorn from Abba was correct in saying that the UK have crap songs. I had hoped they`d pay heed to his remarks for 2014, I haven`t heard this years entry yet, so can`t comment. I did like Humpys song from last year though.

Very disappointed. Great show, stunning production and lighting, and some good songs. Female presenter mildly irritating, but I've seen worse. However, IMO although Conchita sang well, the song was instantly forgettable, and there were a lot more worthy winners. I had Sweden ahead by a mile, with another 5 or 6 songs I wouldn't have minded winning; Austria didn't even feature in my Top 10. A case of political correctness gone mad? And a good performance by Molly - she deserved a hell of a lot better than 17th. Overall a good show unfortunately spoilt by a bad result.

I watched the last hour of this (I don't usually bother) and all the songs I liked (apart from The Netherlands) sang without trace.
I am still confused over the gender of 'Conchita' though...didn't reckon much to the song. Instantly forgettable

I still miss Terry and his quips. Graham Norton has improved since his first but still too serious. Colin Baker made many on Twitter I could imagine Terry saying. I do wish it would return to singing. No miming, no acrobatics, no gimmicks. It was a good show but many of the songs sounded the same.

Close, but no cigar Wendy! It was actually won by Georgios Samaras, Celtic and Greek national squad winger.
