I cant wait to find out if Reet lives or dies! It would be totally amazing if they made it a surprise death but also id be really sad to see Reet leave the show after almost 39 years - would totally be the end of an era.
Maybe she will just leave and go to live with Mavis!

I've wanted her to go for a few years now. She became boring and served no purpose apart from making up the numbers. However now I've lost my mum, I don't want Reet to go. She introduced to to Corrie in the 70s and, as a result, I became a Barbara fan. Okay so we both got bored with it but it's, and Barbara, are a connection to my mum.

I`ve always liked Reet....I always thought she was too good for Len Fairclough even when she married him. I can remember shouting at the screen "Don`t do it Rita - he`s bad news" But would she listen? Did she `eck as like

Pats...did I ever tell you my Mother had the same pink dressing gown as Reet? She wore it when she and Bet went to a caravan site without Len. My Nan bought that dressing gown fromMarks and Spencers years ago.
My Nan also bought my Mother a jacket from M&S that Ivy Tilsey wore in the late 70`s/early 80`s. It was a beige/brown stripyish jacket with the belt the same fabric as the jacket.

LOL! I remember watching and just enjoying, although I never liked Lump and was glad he got killed off. Didn't want her to go back when she left him. Definitely too good for him.

I'm going to have to look, aren't I? Buggeration Street!!!  I still think she had treatment for cancer or still has it. Not even the best plastic surgeon in the world could get so much fat off everywhere so fast. If her voice has changed, what else has happened unless the gnashers are new? She's had false a while. The whistling comes and goes, maybe it's just an occasional problem. It's more prominent in eps with Claudia, so maybe she's just copying Claudia, who definitely sounds like she's got a kazoo stuck in her throat

No idea apart from the one on her nose over 20 years ago. It's just a guess. She was suddenly off work 6 months for health issues and came back svelte. Chemo can do that. No amount of plastic surgery or dieting in the world can in the same amount of time.

I am glad that Reet is still in the show, it will be 40 years of her regularly appearing in Corrie next month I believe!

Hard to tell with all the voluminous coats and tops she wears...and her mahoosive wigs, which seem to get bigger and cover more of her face every week! ;D

Last night those scenes where Reet was stopped by the police were filmed right outside the Corrie gates, so she didnt have far to go! I thought Barbara did very well in those scenes where she got upset. Its a bit much tho treating a lady of nearly 80 like that just because she forgot to renew her license, they would have sent reminders to her. Although ive heard that you can be fined up to £1000 for failing to renew your license or informing the DVLA of any changes of address etc so always make sure I do!
Yes I wonder if they will do anything to mark her anniversary, Reet will also be 80 next month so they may mention that. Blimey, 80! Its hard to believe!

LOL! So she's piled the pounds on she didn't have in the 50th anniversary photo or meeting Queenie. Interesting.
My dad had a letter before he turned 70 but couldn't be arsed. He hasn't driven since 1996.
Yep 80 - same age as Des O'Connor, who looks better! LOL!

No idea but it's still amazing how many think my website is hers. I often get emails and today had this: Dear Barbara We would be delighted if you would join us as we officially open our new Virgin Money Lounge in Manchester. Please see the attached invitation for more details, including how to RSVP your attendance. We look forward to seeing you there. Regards Virgin Money LOL! Reet would be a better recipient! It's a very badly written request. No formaility towards Barbara or the sender signing at the bottom. No description of what the event entails, what they expect her to do or mention of payment. I have no idea if it's genuine and won't download the RSVP but she wouldn't go anyway. Patsy |
