I think David is currently coming across as becoming the next hard case of the street - see what he has to say tomorrow (26 Oct) on 'Loose Women'

Davis is definitely turning into a nutcase - and a lot of it is due to all the scary stuff he was exposed to by his family: Sarah didn't get an education either (too busy getting pregnant), Gail ignored him while she moved nasty men into the house and Martin ignored him while he took up with little girls and school teachers.
If they get in a family counsellor - the counsellor will hit the bottle!

I'm afraid I'd have beaten nine shades of shite out of David way before now. As would have Phil the Foot Fiddler.

PTFF certainly pinned him against the wall and threatened him He sure did, Nick, then he couldn't be bothered and slung his hook; I don't think Charlie will be as easy meat - David can't scare HIM off.

he is a builder Patsy, and despite his horrendous treatment of woman a very competant one too. Maybe he could chuck Gail in with him! ;D

Getting back to the original question, they interest me. This is a good developing friendship and it has made both characters seem more complex

This is the trouble and I agree with Patsy, before I quit watching Emmerdale, I was thinking pretty much something similar with regards to friendships and such forth, and unfinished storylines, I think Corrie is getting bad for this too. David and Maria I think is just a means to an end. Whatever end the writers have in mind. One of the troubles that soaps have these days is the quantity of episodes. Have to say, emmerdale at 6 nights a week, corrie at 5. It is a lot and it makes the cast and the crew especially have to work pretty darn hard. Which spoils the viewing. I know you are on a downer with Corrie now Patsy, but, if ever you get back into it, how long till you slide back out of it? I am likely the same with Emmerdale.

I very much doubt I will ever go back, Alice. And it's so easy t get behind with Emmerdale. I have 3 weeks worth to catch up with and sometimes I just can't be bothered.

LOL Patsy has been on a downer with Corrie since ive known her (the last 3 years!).
I stopped watching Emmerdale earlier this year after 13 years of watching, and I must say I dont miss it. The 6 episodes a week schedule was ridiculous.

Or am I getting it the wrong way round?

Hey you cheeky sod. Not the ENTIRE 3 years. Just most of it. Has it really been that long we've known each other? Crikey. I had less grey hair then and so did little Barbara! LOL! Patsy

LOL! The only time I remember saying you really enjoyed an entire episode was Dev and Sunita's wedding and that was 2 years ago. I know you liked SOME of the stuff in 2004 but not entire episodes.
Yep it was on the Plus forums sometimes in October 2003.
