I agree Nick. I cannot believe they arrested Norris - they had no more evidence that he had done wrong than Ryan!
And where the hell was Reet when all this was going on - getting drunk probabaly!

I agree Nick. I cannot believe they arrested Norris - they had no more evidence that he had done wrong than Ryan! The fact they arrested Norris doesn't suprise me in the slightest. I think that is exactly what the police would do in real life.

Isn't this the same as when Reet chased Chesney out the shop and he hurt himself? Cilla went for the throat demanding compo and Reet wound up spending a night in the cells.

I thought you were allowed to use 'reasonable force' when protecting your property against burglars or vandals?

Again, totally unrealistic. Police would not have let Ryan off just like that on his word alone. Similarly, there would be a presumption that since Norris had called the police, he had good reason to do so. The "citizen's arrest" does exist, but it is true that it is these days hedged about with all kinds of legal pitfalls.
But Police would simply never have treated someone who reported a crime the way Norris was treated. If I was a Chief constable, I'd consider complaining.

Are Chief Constables usually pals of Blair these days?
This again shows the ridiculousness of the shop NOT having CCTV after all these years.

LOL! She wouldn't have to. It could come out of the insurance after all her break-ins.
Kevin O'Sullivan in today's Mirror said Corrie has served its purpose an should be axed, replaced by ASBO Street because it's more realistic.

Nick's right though. I have to update their profiles and it's all so boring. What can I write? "Rita and Norris bickered. They bickered again. They still bickered. Another year arrived and they still bickered." At least with Mave it was funny. Hangover from having too many eps?
