And another nit pick..... if 'Woody' had been kept in that garage thingie and Hayley hadn`t driven it - why was it all nice and shiney and in beautiful condition? Surely it would have a layer of dust on it? I can`t imagine Roy going over to that garage everday er....polishing his Woody er shining his Woody cleaning the car

I am loving the interaction between Roy, Ken and Becky in the cafe more and more.
If Liz don`t tone down her gaudy outfits, I`m going to send Granada a bill for optician visits....they`re really hurting my eyes. I`m starting to think that those outfits have subliminal messages put into them somehow by Granada.

Ken found Roy's woody a bit stiff to handle! And Ken did polish the top of Roy's woody after they both touched it!

Nonsense. She's still the sexiest woman on the street by miles.

I must also say that I too am really enjoying the interplay between Roy, Becky, and Ken. It's working really well, and Becky is just a lovely character - what a transformation from the worthless no-hoper she seemed to be when she first arrived.

Oh, and Roy's woody is in beautiful condition for its age.

Job would have felt quite at home in No 8 Coronation Street. Gail Platt's 50th birthday fell on the day that David, the son on whom she doted, was sent to jail. Her mother, who probably means well, invited the neighbours round to cheer her up.

Deirdre and Claire arrived at the balloon-festooned mausoleum that was Chateau Platt, singing: "Happy birthday to you!" Gail was just back from court. She was in plaster, because David had pushed her downstairs, and in tears, because he had been sentenced to four months inside. To put the tin lid on it all, it wasn't even her birthday. Helen Worth, who plays Gail, was 57 in January and looking very good, love. Everything considered.

She has had a bumpy life. As her mother - slightly the worse for drink, and no wonder - put it: "I know she's never been very lucky in love, Lord knows, but one day, darling, one of them will stick." Gail has, indeed, a curious fly-paper quality. Misfortunes swarm in on her as if she were dipped in syrup and hanging from a light fitting. Her first husband was murdered, her last husband was a murderer, her daughter was pregnant at 13 and her son is doing porridge for smashing all the windows in the street.

Broken glass tends to cut you to the quick, and the birthday guests had not forgotten. They were soon well away and telling it like it is. If there is one thing Lancashire is famous for, it is home truths. As one guest said to Gail: "There's no one in the room who hasn't called your David a toe-rag at one time or another." This compulsive candour about other people's children is why the Queen, who is the Duke of Lancaster, tends to avoid the place.

Throughout this grisly celebration, Gail preserved that air of infinite loving sufferance that we all find so trying. If David had offered, in his own defence, the fact that his mother was a cocker spaniel, the outcome might have been happier. As it is, he is sharing a cell with Graeme, who seems to communicate wholly in song and whom the warder describes disturbingly as "a fiasco".

Loved the way she got her revenge on Rick.

Totally freaky scene in the corner shop - Dev overacting like mad, doing funny voices - then Fiz burst in looking like a headbanger!

I've long since lost sympathy with Gail - she's too much of a whining martyr. How pathetic to hobble on crutches to visit the son who nearly killed her.

Does Jason know what he's taking on? He's used to sex brat Sarah - Becky is tough as old boots, she'll break his neck if he upsets her again.

Good on Roy for sticking to his principles re Tony/bats, but it's getting a bit boring now. About time they wound it up before it gets to the stage of Emily Bishop up a tree or 10 Downing Street getting involved.

We have had never ending Platt storylines for years ..and now we have Gails dad turning up....why can't they give them a rest for a couple of months..let David do his time and Gail get off those crutches (she's draining the life out of me with them) and give someone else a storyline who hasn't had one for ages

I think Becks and Jase will make a good couple

Dev is getting more camp as the weeks go on..I think if he is a marshmallow he'll be a pink one ;D

Last nights episodes were good. Are the Corrie writers considering a romance between Gail and Jerry?? Written properly it could work, and Jerry could be a calming influence on David. But at the moment I didn`t see any spark that I could see with Eileen and Jerry.
If Tony hurts one hair on Roys head I`ll borrow hubbys steel toe capped boots and kick him so hard in the gooleys he`ll end up with 3 Adams apples.
