I wonder what the viewing figures will be like when Paul O`Grady comes back? When is he coming back, does anyone know?

No idea. ITV are cowards though so it will probably be ended by then.

lol yes you did Pats...and as usual you were right. The producers of the AC luvvyfest didn`t have the 'town halls' to pit it up against Paul O Grady.

LOL! Any more than they do to put Corrie up against EE.

But what exactly is the point in putting a show like this against their rivals? What would putting Corrie up against EE achieve exactly apart from both shows getting less viewers and people moaning? The same as putting Antony up against Paul O Grady?

Because they're childish enough to do it already with EE and Emmerdale, even by sticking two eps together. Everything beats R&J because it's an entirely different programme to what it's up against. PoG rarely gets beated and despite their blustering Antony Cotton will be bigger than him, they haven't the guts to prove it.

Lots of people have TIVO now and can tape one show and watch another. I used to do that all the time when ER and Chicago Hope were on at the same time on different channels in 1994. If people were given the choice to watch POG or AC it would be Paul O`Grady everytime.

It would. We don't have TIVO or Sky Plus or anything like that. I hardly watch anything nowadays. My mum's still old-fashioned and if something clashes, chooses like in the days before video recorders.

I hate to sound thick, but what is TIVO ?
We still have analogue as well as Freesat, so I can still video stuff.

TIVO is a digital recorder sooty that lets you record via on screen programming and you can store progs on a hard drive or cd - depending on the model. I don`t have one, but hope to get one after Christmas. www.tivo.com/whatistivo/index.html

Like Sky Plus. You can pause live programmes and go back and watch. Tivo did come out here before Sky got in on the act.

I don`t think it`s fair that we have to pay a monthly fee to use to use a product which we`ve already paid for. We`re looking at the DVD recorders in Walmart that you can save your stuff onto a DVD...they seem to be coming down in price a lot lately. Thursday nights here have some great shows and some of them are on at the same time. Although with network telly we have East and West channels, now that school is back in session I don`t want to stay up 3 hours later to watch the west coast.

I've got a DVD combi but only use it for transfer. I worked out it was easier and cheaper putting stuff onto DVD to send Amy than pay for conversion to NTSC, especially as it recorded in 0 region.

Patsy I dont recall them ever saying Antony cotton will be bigger than Paul O Grady's show? Also its sensible for them not to put Antony's show up against Paul O Grady IMO - ITV is a business and it would be foolis had theyput a new show up against an established show of the same type on a rival station.

But PoG has snubbed them by 1) going to Channel 4 after ITV cocked up on his contract and 2) turning down millions to go back by resigning with C4. Therefore, as ITV are childish, they would.

From Teletext:
Cotton chat loses viewers Corrie star Antony Cotton's appeal is waning dramatically - with his teatime chatshow drawing its lowest ever audience.
Just 783,000 watched the start of yesterday's show but the figure rose to 1.3m for the last 15 minutes.
Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in the soap, got off to a strong start when he debuted last month with 2m tuning in. Meanwhile, ITV denied it was after Alan Carr to host a Blind Date revival.

Surprise surprise.
It has to be one of the biggest loads of cack currently being aired - far, far worse than POG's show, and that's not exactly brilliant either (IMO).

No surprise there then. AC must be delusional if he ever expected fans to switch off from POG and tune into show in droves. It will be very interesting to see how many people tune in to POG show
