I did say I put a twist in the story Alison  lol . Steve and Violet came home and felt sick at the sight of Tracys work, then when Steve put the key into the door they both reeled at the smell it was disgusting dog dirt and it was all over the carpet, who would do something like that to them , Steve phoned for the police then after they,ed came and looked at the damage and he had cleaned up for Violet who had fainted before she could do that, he phoned Les to pick them up in his Taxi and Steve took Violet to his place for the night as they could not stop at Violets flat. Tracy had been watching them and was in hysterics laughing ,then there came a knock at her door , at last David had taken his time but she was dreading doing what he wanted. she opened the door hideing behind it saying as she did so "about time too did you have much trouble? sexy", "No trouble at all my unloveing one"boomed a voice she remembered but it coudn,t be could it? no way! she,d killed him and only the other day she had visted his grave Tracy took a peep from behind the door and went white with shock, Wow! he did look like Charlie, and sounded like him too, must be a lookalike actor thought Tracy whose idea of a joke was that?. |

"Who hired you to play this joke?"asked a very ashen faced Tracy ," its no joke Sweetheart it,s me , don,t you recognise me or something? replied Charlie "can,t be your dead, I thumped you extremley hard with an orniment and you died, I was at your funeral " said Tracy, "I must admit darling I did have one hell of a headache but not anymore he laughed you might have went to a funeral but was it mine? " he replied, this was too much for Tracy she fell to the floor with a dull thud in a faint. Charlie wound back a mini tape recorder he had in his pocket and listened to his and Tracy,s conversation , looked for and found a padded envelope wrote a small note and slipped it and the tape into the envelope addressed it to "weatherfield police station" looked at her lieing on the liveing room floor ,smirked then said "bye darling you and I were good once, but I,ve got to do this because Amy will be better off with a loveing parent and that is not you sweetheart". then he strode off down the cobbled street to slip the envelope through the letterbox of the police station where at that moment a very scared David was telling the interested police who had told him if he told them he wouldn,t face a serious charge , so he sang like a bird how Tracy had supplied him with the paint etc and told him what to do to Easycab,s office she said she,d pay me for it. Steve and Violet were sleeping .

when Sean went to work next morning he was in total shock at the sight of the outside of Violets flat, poor lass he thought she doesn,t deserve that. in his break he walked back to see Violet nearly in tears trying to scrub off Tracys handywork, Sean offered to give her a hand, she greatfully accecepted it. "I,ve missed you, I,m sorry Violet, "he said "missed you too my friend, "she replied, while they worked together gradually ,slowly getting rid of the graffitti, Rita was watching them through the Kabin window and with a tiny smile said "Norris I,ve got a little job for you, go and give them a hand", "aw, but Rita" he whined with a steely gaze "but me nothing, go and give those two a hand now Norris! I can spare you". getting a bucket and a scrubbing brush ,hot water and his special stuff to get rid of graffiti Norris slunk out of the shop and made his way slowly to help Violet and Sean who were pleased to see him. Tracy who was watching all the activity on the street from her liveing room window was startled by a loud knock on her door, now who was that? she wondered.

thank you both of you  . after they had cleaned up what they could and Norris had gone back to the Kabin after saying he would help Violet again tommorow if Rita could spare him. Sean and Violet went inside the flat, Sean,s nose wrinkled against the smell of pine disinfectent with the lingering whiff of dog dirt in the hallway, " ohh pooh!, god Violet I don,t think much of your new air freshener" he joked, as they reached the liveing room he was alarmed by his friends extremley pale look, "I think you should lie down on the couch Violet and I,ll make us a nice cup of tea ok",she did as he asked very wearily as she was feeling so tired out by it all. Tracy opened the door and saw David standing there with a policeman, "you,ve got the wrong house" she quickly said "he dooesn,t live here he live,s with his mum Gail Platt across the road, "Tracy ,they know "David said, "the game,s up!" , as he and the policeman walked in to her house "trust you to muck thing,s up, why couldn,t you do something right for a change, you horrible brat!"she hissed at David quietly , "and why did you say you,d killed Charlie when he,s not dead" replied David hissing back at her, she turned pale so David had seen him as well had he ? that mean,t no he couldn,t be yet she had seen him and had been talking with him,. " well I don,t understand how can I help you? but would you like a coffee"? Tracy asked the policeman with a sweet smile on her face hopeing to pin all the blame on David. |

Sean stayed with Violet until Steve came home from work that day, Blanche had been watching from the window and had seen the policeman and young David go into Tracy,s "I wonder what that young madam has been upto?" she muttered . Dierdrie was beside herself "oh Ken whats going on? if she,s in trouble what,s going to happen to Amy ? she wailed, Ken gave a long suffering sigh "I,ll go across in a minute ,its probably nothing love, Amy will be ok , ok" but he was thinking if Tracy has done something then tough we are not going to bail her out this time! and Steve can and will look after his daughter, at our age its time we had some peace, not that we get any peace when Blanche is around . Norris had also seen the police going into Tracys and wondered if he should tell them he had sen her doing the graffitti artistry the other night?, "Rita I just wondered could I have a word"? he said oh that man thought Rita tapping a pen on the clipboard"yes Norris you can but make it a short word , I,ve stocktaking to do" came the curt reply "can I have some time off I need to see Emily for a minute"he asked, Rita could barely keep the look of joy off her face, yippee she thought with him gone I can get on with the stocktake and have a cup of tea afterwards, "well I don,t know Norris, she began to reply "you had sometime off this morning to help young Violet and Sean to clean that horrible stuff of her house didn,t you?, oh go on then yes ,I,m too soft for me own good with you" Rita said, Norris was that gratefull he gave her a quick peck on the cheek, "yuk,geraway with you man, your not my type"she said.

next morning Violet wasn,t so lucky because Steve heard her being ill in the bathroom, and he was concerned about her enough to phone the doctor and make her an appointment. Sean saw her getting into Les,es taxi on his way to work at the factory and was a bit scared because she looked so pale this morning. as Steve walked to easy cab,s he heard his mum calling him from the flat window above the rovers "Steve, hey you our Steve" he looked up "yeah ,what?" he replied, "never mind what, come here a minute will you"? she said, Steve gave a sigh and walked over to the rovers and went in, and into the private area at the back where Betty and Michelle were haveing a cup of tea before starting work, "nice for some "said Steve with a wink, "where,s mum"? "behind you lad,replied Betty with a giggle , Steve turned and saw Liz beckoning him over to her , he gulped oh heck what have I done he wondered, "Steve we,ve still got our Amy now you know Vernon and me love her to bits and we don,t mind too much because that little lass is a pleasure to have around but could you find out what,s going on because Tracy should have picked her back up last night, " she whispered not wanting Betty or Michelle to hear her, Steve,s blue eyes widened in surprise Tracy would never win mother of the year he knew that but he,d never known her to leave Amy with his mum for long, "mum can I see Amy before I go to work please? then I,ll see what Tracy is playing at ok" with a finger to her lip,s she led Steve upstairs to her guest room where she opened the door very quietly to see Amy sleeping and looking like an angel with a tiny smile on her face . Steve,s heart melted at the sight of his daughter he did love her very much. "thank,s mum "he whispered before creeping downstairs again, "bye for now ladys "he called "Betty save some of your delicious hotpot for me and Violet at dinner time please" he said giveing her a smile .

Violet came out of the doctors lookin like nothing was wrong with her, she felt like she was in shock but it was a pleasent shock she phoned for a taxi and waited until it came and asked the driver to take her home to her flat. Steve had been knocking on Tracys door and couldn,t get an answer ,typical of her he thought she,s been out and pulled an unsuspecting bloke and stayed at his all night and not thought of their daughter once. he walked away when he saw Violet arriveing home in the taxi as she wouldn,t be happy with him knocking on his ex,s door, he,d try again later he thought. once inside Violet didn,t quite know what to do with herself the doctor had told her news she had hoped for but now was so unsure about it, she was happy about it though, but should she tell Steve? would he be happy about it too or would he leave her Violet hoped he wouldn,t as she did love him so much when she thought about it she wasn,t sure how Sean would take her news either.

Steve was relived to see Violet looking better at lunchtime as they walked down the cobbled steet to the rovers he asked her what the doctor had said, Violet replied "I,ll tell you later love I don,t want to tell you on the street ok". Sean was in the rovers enjoying Bettys company and a hotpot and a pint when they want in, he waited until Steve went to the bar to place his and Violets order then came over to where they were sitting and asked Violet "are you ok ?" Violet replied "Sean don,t be angry with me ok but the doctor said I,m pregnant, I haven,t told Steve yet but I,m going too, your the first one I,ve said anything too", Sean looked more than a bit surprised at what Violet had just said but strangely he did not feel angry towards his friend as he knew it was what she had wanted even though she had carried out a mad plan to get it she was going to tell Steve and that was ok. "well if he won,t stand by you I,m here for you mate" he said giveing her a cuddle.

after Steve brought the drink,s over and they were waiting for Betty to serve the food, Steve whispered to Violet that he had to go out for a min but would be back soon. Sean watched him go and went back over to Violet in the pub "did he do a runner when you told him?" he asked and his eyes looked a bit shocked, "no Sean I haven,t told him yet hes had to pop out for a min to easycabs I think" Sean sat with her to keep her company. Steve all but ran to Tacys door again and Knocked hard and long at it getting no response until Blanche stuck her head out of the Barlows window and said "theres no use knocking you know she helping police with their enquiries, that poor kiddie of her,s look after her Steve" and shut the window again on a surprised Steve who was left wondering why and what had Tracy done then he suddenly gave a delighted smile, look after Amy yes you bet he would after he rang his soliciter first of course , pulling out his mobile he dialled at speed to ask his soliciter to work fast and get Amy into his care pronto as her mumwas in trouble with the police again and no he didn,t know why . then he thought he,d better ask Violet but he didn,t think she would object. while this was happening Ken was haveing a quiet pint in the rovers after trying to calm Diedrie down after they saw both David and Tracy being escorted into the waiting police car that morning, until Gail came in in full screech mode "where is he ? where is my David what is going on between him and your Tracy" she yelled at Ken to the entertainment of the factory girls and Eileen who were flabbergasted by that statement.

Ken cowered in the corner of his seat he hated scenes like this," I,ve been at work and when I was just about to go into our house Claire told me she saw David with your Tracy in a police car, what the hell is going on Ken?" fineally Gail paused a little and Ken said "I,m as wise as you are Gail, and Diedrie is like you worried to death , unless we go down to the station we will never know will we?" as they walked outside they met Steve who called a taxi for them, in the bar the reguler,s were dieing to gossip about what they had just heard. Seans eyes were wide with excitement as he looked after Violet who was wondering what was going on it was a strange sort of day she thought. Steve walked in and sat down just as Betty appeared with thier pipeing hot meal "have I missed anything ? " Steve enquired of the room which had taken a hush immeditely everyone started talking at once. at that moment Tracy and David were being interviewed seperately, David was singing out all he knew in the hope of getting a lighter sentance. Tracy was listening to a tape being played in front of her and the duty soliciter she felt as if she was in deep deep shock, god why did Charlie do this to her if it had been him? she,d get him back she thought and this time his funeral would be a real one!. she was denying it for all she was worth, until a note was passed across by the constable "madam this was with the tape" he said, as Tracy read the note her colour drained out of her face and she slid very slowly off her chair and onto the floor.

the police let Tracy recover in her own time and her interview went on. Diedrie and Ken arrived at the station roughly at the same time as a very worried Gail, after they had spoken to the duty sargent at the desk they waited until they could see the officer in charge who when he came decided to speak with Gail first he took her into a small room not far from the desk and closed the door. "your son is on a serious charge Madam he said to Gail who started to panic when he said that, "however he has been helpfull in our enquires and has had a person via a note that has spoken up for him, so this time he is going to be lucky and get off with a caution if he continues in his connextions and keeps doing crime then he will not be so lucky, " he said with a very stern look at Gail "as it is he will have to pay Easycabs for the damage he did there may I suggest he works volenterily as a gopher for them until the damage is paid for" ,the owners of Easycabs are more than happy for him to settle his debt that way, and it might teach your son a valuble lesson for the future.
Gail was relived and agreed to this for David. "Well Madam I now suggest you wait at home for your son and we will release him later this evening. Gail thanked him and walked by Driedre and Ken glareing at them and hissed "if it hadn,t been for your daughter David would not have been here!". the duty sargent heard her gave her a balefull stare and shook his head her son would be back he had no doubt about that he,d seen parents like her far too often alway,s blameing everyone else as their offspring were angel,s to hear them talk yet they were far from it. the officer in charge took the Barlows into the room next as he explained what Tracy had done and how David had been involved then showed them the note that came in with the incriminateing tape, Diedre started to sob,both she and Ken were pale with shock "oh Ken she wailed "what are we going to do with our Tracy"? Ken gulped he had been dreading her asking that question, he gently cuddled her ,kissed her on her hair and then with a steely look in his eyes looked at her and the officer and said "for the first time Diedrie we are not going to do one thing for our daughter, she can face up to what she has done for a change, we can,t keep bailing her out!. " then just as gently guided her out of the door and out of the station with her still weeping. Tracy did not take the news from her soliciter kindly, nor was she happy to go back to her cell, and was less than happy to hear later that Steve was fileing for custordy of Amy. Steve when they wer walking hom said to Violet his blue eyes serious "love I ,ve something to tell you and I don,t know how your going to react" Violet said quietly with a grin "that,s my line Steve darling", to Steve,s relief she agreed if he got custordy of Amy that was fine she did,nt mind she loved her. but when Steve asked her what her news was she just said I,ll tell you later and smiled. Ken went over to Violets later that night to discuss the custordy case with Steve and told him "there will be no objections from him or Diedrie or from Blanche for that matter , as long as they could still see the little girl", Steve assured him of course they would yet knew he would have a fight on his hands if Tracy had anything to do with it.

Violet cuddled up to Steve on the sofa and hoped the time was right to tell him her news, "Steve she said whispering in his ear I,ve got some new,s for you but I,m not sure if your going to like it? " oh no Steve thought she,s going to chuck me, and I thought we were well matched too. "the thing is love continued Violet "your going to be a daddy " "I,m a dad already "Steve answered with a grin "or had you forgotten about Amy", then what Violet had just said struck home "your,your p,p,pregnant "he stuttered. shyly Violet nodded but couldn,t face him, which was a pity as she missed his blue eyes shineing with joy and a beaming smile on his face. he gently put his hand under her chin and lifted it so she could see his face perfectly then kissed her gently but lingeringly loveingly "thats fantastic "he said "Amys going to have a baby brother or a sister thats the best news I,ve heard for a long time love". they both hugged eachother and Violet felt relived she had told him. Tracy was sitting on her bunk cell bed and smoldering with anger about everything, why was this happening to her, first that bloody note and tape Charlie had posted through the staion letterbox she had had it this time she knew that since when was Charlie Stubbs special superintendant Charles Stubbs though? she thought he was a builder did that mean Jason who helped him on the site was a policeman too  , then her mum and Ken had turned their back on her why hadn,t they just payed her bail? how she hated this dismal place she wanted to go home and now!, and Steve wanted her daughter solely in his care well she,d fight that one no way was he and mousy bringing her daughter up if she Tracy could help it. |
