I always remember a bit of dialogue from the first episode of One Foot In The Grave which made me laugh
Mrs Warboys bumps into Victor in ther street
MRS WARBOYS:Oh hello Mr Meldrew you look terrible..even worse than the last time I saw you
VICTOR:(Sarcastically)Yes Mrs warboys it's a joy to be alive
It always makes me titter

Dennis Tanner is coming back for some reason. www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-12274586 I know they talked about Linda Cheveski when DL was there but what possible reason could Dennis have? I wonder if it's another Ray Langton thing? Patsy

Oh wow that`s brilliant!!!!!!!!!!! Phil Collinson could very well turn out to be one of the best producers in Corrie. So who would recognise him? Ken, Emily, and Betty. I can`t think of anyone else.

Reet. Maybe he's come to run away with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wasn't he gone by the time Betty arrived?

You're right Patsy, he left 1968 and Betty arrived 1969.

Thanks, Sooty. The various articles make me laugh saying he was sent to prison but viewers were kept up to date with him. No they bloody weren't! Not even when they brought Linda back in 1984. Patsy

In the mid nineties Philip Lowrie was doing the audtions for the game show 15 - to -1. I went along to audition at the Civic Centre in Wandsworth, and he was the question-master, although it didn't ring any bells with me. I wasn't a Corrie fan during his time there. Anyway I did really well in the auditions, and was asked back to appear on the show a few weeks later to be questioned in a real game by the legend that is William G. Stewart. I was completely rubbish and got knocked out in the first round

Exactly Nick. Looks like they have something lined up because he has no real connection now. PLEASE let it be the end of Reet!
My mum used to love that so she'd have probably seen you, Pearly. He sounded nothing like Dennis Tanner. LOL!

For some reason I thought Phillip left in 1971...but it was 1968, so Betty wouldn`t have known him as she arrived in 1969. I can`t help but wonder that Dennis Tanner is coming back to announce the sad passing of Jed Stone. I hope that`s not the case.

Maybe it's because Dennis was jailed in 1972 but as far as I'm aware, we never saw him on screen.
If it was, why take 6 months to do it? It's a strange one and I'm still hoping he'll take Reet away from it all.

I was going to add the 15 - to 1 group photo they took of us, but I can't seem to do so. Maybe Patsy will do it for me if I email it to her?? I know you posted pictures for me in the past, Patsy, because I'm so useless with computers. If you like i could try to email it to you, and you could post it here. It's only of me and William G. and the other contestants, though - Philip Lowry wasn't in it.

Thanks, Patsy - have a k!!
I don't think Philip Lowry was there at all, Ithink his his voice was pre-recorded. The studio was tiny - no studio audience, just a few benches behind the cameras and sound desk. A skeleton staff of about five including make-up, techies and William G.
I'm the one in the middle, second from the right, in the denim shirt, with the long dark hair.
The two on the left got into the final with each other, but I don't remember which one won - I'd lost interest by that point! It might have been the one with the waistcoat.
It was a good day, and they posted us this photo a couple of months after the event.
15 - to 1 was a good programme, - entertaining, educational and very very cheap. I don't know why they took it off the air.

Thanks, Pearly. You look the most normal one there. I'm still unnerved by the one of the left. Did he have a raincoat? LOL! It started when I had chickenpox. I always remember that because I was bored. LOL! I think William G was baffled by it being taken off, wasn't he? Patsy

From DSCoronation Street bosses have decided to bring back Bruno Langley's character Todd Grimshaw for a short return storyline, Digital Spy can confirm. Earlier today, tabloid reports revealed that the show's producer Phil Collinson had approached Langley over a Weatherfield comeback - more than three years after Todd was last seen on screen. Todd's original Corrie stint ran from 2001 to 2004. During that time, he became the show's first acknowledged gay character - memorably kissing Nick Tilsley in 2003 before embarking on an affair with nurse Karl Foster. In 2007, the character made a brief return to Weatherfield to attend his brother Jason's (Ryan Thomas) wedding to Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien), before heading back to his new home of London. An ITV spokesperson told DS today: "We are currently in negotiations with Bruno Langley about a short storyline that will see the return of the character Todd Grimshaw.'' Meanwhile, a Corrie source told the Sunday Mirror: "Todd was a hugely popular character and his gay kiss was a landmark moment. Phil is aware the show has a lot of gay viewers and feels there should be more characters they can identify with. "When Phil contacted Bruno about making a comeback he was over the moon. Everyone's really excited about it." What a shame he can't come back on a more permanant basis.
