Indeed it will - unfortunately it sounds like we'll also be seeing more of the dreadful Prawn.

He'll probably get his own spin-off show next!

(From DS)

Katherine Kelly is to leave Coronation Street at the end of this year, ITV has announced.
The actress has decided to bow out from her role as fan favourite Becky McDonald after five years in Weatherfield.
Becky is to remain on screen until early 2012 and show bosses have promised that she will feature in dramatic storylines for the remainder of her time on the soap.
The build-up to Becky's exit begins next month when social services start investigating her 'purchase' of nephew Max from half-sister Kylie.
Believing that her arch-nemesis Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has reported her to the authorities, Becky soon goes on another rampage - putting Tracy's life in jeopardy and risking the future of her marriage to Steve (Simon Gregson). Details of the dramatic showdown leaked yesterday but the plot has now been officially confirmed.
Further twists and turns are then expected in the coming months as the McDonalds' ongoing story heads towards an explosive exit for Becky.
Speaking of her forthcoming departure, Kelly commented: "It's been one of the hardest decisions of my life. I love Coronation Street and everyone here. I have had the most blissful five years, I wouldn't change one moment of it - but it feels like the time is right to say goodbye to Becky."
Corrie's producer Phil Collinson added: "Katherine is a talented actress who has made the character of Becky a firm favourite with the viewers for the past five years and we will miss her as an actress and a valued member of the Coronation Street family.
"That said, we totally respect her desire to move on and viewers can certainly look forward to an electrifying nine months of gripping storylines involving Becky McDonald as we head towards her departure from Weatherfield."
Today's announcement brings months of speculation surrounding Kelly's future at Coronation Street to an end. Reports first indicated that the actress was planning to leave last December.
Can't say I'll be sorry - she started off very well, but rapidly became just bloody irritating.
Just sorry we've got to wait 'til 2012!

Even reading the stuff I can see they just turned her into another Karen and recycled the crap with KF.

Having never been a fan of Becky I can't say I will miss her. Let's hope she takes her sister with her.

She told me she is contracted until December but mentioned nothing about wanting to leave again.
A few others that are leaving;
Graeme Hawley films his final scenes next week so I expect he will leave in June on screen. Craig Gazey is due to leave (as we already know) but on screen in July - not sure if Xin will go too.

Even down to Steve sneaking off for a weekend with Tracy and Amy (in Blackpool this time not London) behind Karen/Becky's back, then her finding out by seeing a photo or whatever

Have to say that looking at all the 'upcoming' stuff on DS is very depressing.

Nick, I feel another "Free the Weatherfield One!" load of crap coming. How many innocent people have they thrown behind bars now because they've run out of ideas? ?? Paul, yep! Yet Phil Collinson thinks he's doing great. I often wonder, when reading comment section about EE in papers, if those who bang on about EE being all misery while Corrie's full of humour (one the other day said 70s humour!) are actually watching or have this illusion from what others say? From DS
Coronation Street bosses have announced that Terry Duckworth will be returning to the cobbles in the spring.
Nigel Pivaro has agreed to reprise his role as the Weatherfield villain, who is the wayward son of the late Jack and Vera (Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn) and father of current resident Tommy (Chris Fountain).
When he makes his return, Terry has no idea that Tommy is living on the street. Dramatic scenes are then expected to follow when the reasons for his comeback become clear.
Pivaro commented: "I am elated to be returning to Coronation Street, which as a Salfordian has been part of my life for nearly 50 years - not just as a character in the show, but as a fan long before becoming an actor.
"I have lived with Terry for more years than not now and have come to realise that he exists in the minds of so many people that he is almost real.
"Despite enjoying so many other acting roles and spending the last five years as a journalist writing for a range of newspaper titles and making documentaries with the BBC's Inside Out series, I am always proud to carry Terry with me. Therefore when producer Phil Collinson talked about Terry returning to the Street, it was an offer I did not want to refuse."
He continued: "Part of the excitement is that the show has changed so much with so many different characters and set ups - it will present Terry with a completely different landscape to that which he knew before. I am going to enjoy playing Terry rediscovering his roots, the changes that have taken place and his reaction to them.
"It will be strange and a little sad without my old sparring partners, Bill and Liz, with whom I had forged such a strong working and personal relationship - but I relish creating an interesting new rapport with Chris, who plays Terry's son Tommy."
Coronation Street boss Phil Collinson added: "I'm very excited to be welcoming arch villain Terry Duckworth back to Coronation Street. I grew up watching him duck and dive and break his parents' hearts - a deliciously evil performance from Nigel Pivaro.
"This time, though, he'll not only be blighting the life of his son Tommy but the lives of every resident of Coronation Street with a typically audacious scheme."
Terry has made numerous appearances on Coronation Street since his debut in 1983. He was last seen in 2008 on the day of Vera's funeral.
Well the fur always flies when Terry returns. I wonder what Tommy will make of it...it will be nice for Tommy to get a storyline! Will he expect to move into Jack's (now Tyrone's house) It will be interesting to to see how he reacts to a policewoman living on the street. !

Good news if the story is done correctly. I remember when Terry first joined in the early 80`s, he was friends with both Kevin and Sally. But I haven`t seen any scenes with them whenever Terry made guest appearances.
