Stuart Blackburn has really ruined Corrie. I hope Corrie doesn`t win one award at the next load of award ceremonies. Maybe then the Granada head honchos will get rid of him.

Coronation Street actor Ian Puleston-Davies has quit the soap to star in a play he has written.
The 56-year-old actor is reported to have told show bosses he doesn't want to renew his contract and stay in Weatherfield as builder Owen Armstrong after half a decade in the role.
He said: "Next year I will have been playing Owen Armstrong for five years and it felt like a good point to move on.
"I have returned to my writing and in 2015 hope to put on a new play.
"But I'd never rule out returning to the role of Owen at some point."
Producers are sad to see the actor leave but have promised Owen will be involved in some "fantastic drama" before Ian leaves the cobbles.
Boss Stuart Blackburn said: "We wish Ian all the very best and there is still a lot of fantastic drama to come for him before he leaves."
I am sorry to see another good actor leave. Now if he could maybe take Gary anfd Faye with him !!

Awww that`s a real shame. I really liked Owen, and hated how his character was developing.Owen is another character that Blackburn has totally ruined.

Coronation Street reveals Sarah-Louise Platt's daughter Bethany Newcomer Katie Redford has been revealed as Sarah-Louise Platt's daughter Bethany on Coronation Street. The character is returning to the cobbles as a 14-year-old this spring, having left her home in Milan, Italy. Bethany turns up unannounced and is soon followed by mum Sarah, who will be played by Tina O'Brien once again. She intends to bring her daughter back to Milan but both end up staying in Weatherfield. They have done a good job picking the actress, she actually has a look of Sarah Lou.

There`s fault on both sides - but I blame Blackburn more as he probably tried to hide it.Of course Blackburn will distance himself from the controversy to make himself look good as per usual. |

I doubt we'll ever know the truth but agree there's fault on both sides. Why hasn't she been quoted explaining how or why she did it instead of her agent? Has she been gagged to cover up their incompetence and agent told what to say? The agent's stuff is very ambiguous so leads to even more questions. Equity and Spotlight would have her details. Are they too lazy to check someone is who they claim to be? What if, say, she was really 15 or had been in prison for mugging old ladies? They probably said "Doesn't matter about your real age. No one will notice. Welcome to Coronation Street!"

I don't have a problem with actors playing characters considerably younger than their real age.
It's been happening since casting began.
For example, think of all the 'kids' in Waterloo Road who have been played by adults. Tina O'Brien (perhaps ironically in the present circumstances), was 28 when she played a schoolgirl!
It's just rather sad/stupid that anyone tried to pretend otherwise in this instance.
Doesn't really matter who is to blame, tho' I understand her agent has held her hand up to it - just a shame that it will probably do her career no good at all.
