Another good episode I thought.

I really like Ted - a gentle and wise man, who I suspect wil have a good influence on Gail, but more importantly David too. Loved the look on Audreh's face when he took off without saying goodbye to her! (self-centred madam!)

However, does anyone else get the feeling that he may be terminally ill, and has only contacted Audrey after all these years because he wants to make peace with people before he dies? Just a suspicion, but coincidentally my wife got the same hunch about this at same time I did, so I just wonder...

Oh dear - I wouldn't want to be in Liam's shoes now. If looks could kill! And I suspect Carla is not someone you want as an enemy.

p.s. An observation - can anyone recall seeing the Black Widow wearing clothes in anything other than grey, black or white?

Even her bloody nightwear last night was grey and black!

... and Liam's getting just as bad. Can't remember the last time I saw him wearing a 'colour' either!

I agree I think Ted will be a very good influence on David....seeing as they seem to have forgotten he has a father living in Liverpool

I agree, 2 good episodes last night. Even though Carla has done some bad things and is selfish I couldnt help feeling a bit sorry for her!

Well it looks like we will get a break from Maria and Liam for a bit now.

The scenes with Ted, Gail and David were really good too.

I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for Carla.

She's not a bit of a kid getting drawn into it. She is a mature woman who knew exactly what she was doing when she homed in on Liam and she was determined to get him whatever the cost.

I am sorry Ted has left, it would have been nice if he had stuck around for a while ( especially as David will be out soon. ) He would have been a good influence on David.

i find it a bit odd that someone (Gail) who has never met her father and has been introduced to him at the age of 50 can instantly start calling him Dad...IMO that is something that happens from a child as you grow up

I didn`t feel sorry for her in the least. She brought it all on herself by taking advantage of Liams vunerability. She just didn`t care whether she hurt Tony or Maria in getting Liam in her clutches.

Over in Corrie, Liz McDonald looks set for another affair. This time she's got her eye on Harry the bookie who keeps appearing at the end of her bar making sheep's eyes at her and moaning on and on about his ex-wife who isn't a patch on Liz. I'm sure he's right, Liz is looking hot right now. She's had her hair bleached, bobbed and curled like Madonna's. She's wearing earrings like Madonna's and clothes like Madonna's and - to be honest considering they're both almost the same age - Liz looks exactly like Madonna would if Madonna didn't own the magic horse that she sometimes falls off, disappearing for a bit to recuperate because the damn thing has licked all of the old off her again. I think it's a given that Liz will end up in bed with Harry, mainly as Harry isn't her husband Vernon who she has mouth-sick-explosions about whenever he shows up looking like the missing Flying Picket.

*Gail Platt had a nice surprise this month when she met her long lost father, Ted. Pensioner Ted is a calm, logical, upbeat man with plenty of gumption about modern life. "I'm so pleased to meet my family at last," beamed Ted as Britain in its entirety laughed until its feetsoles skimmed the air shouting, "Ha! You've not found out what they're like yet!" "So where is young David?" Ted asked. "He's, erm, away," fudged Gail, "erm, in Young Offenders." "Yeah he's a headcase," added David's girlfriend Tina. "He's had his troubles," trilled Gail. "Yeah, everyone else has had troubles. David caused them," said Tina.

Tina is the best thing in Corrie right now. It was a relief when she stayed on as a character even when David went inside. "I'm moving in with you Gail! I hate me mother," she said arriving on Gail's doorstep this week with all her possessions with her (some GHD straighteners, Rimmel lipgloss, a hoodie and some thongs.) "Oh, OK then," said Gail, having little choice as the girl was already past her and installed on the sofa giving granny Audrey and long-lost Ted gyp.

"So have you got a wife then, Ted?" asked Gail. It then transpired that Ted was gay. Gail's face was a picture. Put out even. Far more put out than when Little David kicked her down the stairs. She had no idea Ted wasn't "normal", she said. Ted: you have a senior citizen's railcard. Use it. Go! Move quickly.

Maybe she will blackmail Liam and tell him she has to sleep with her otherwise she will send the photo to Maria as didnt Rosie have a thing for Liam not so long ago? That would be a more interesting twist than something predictable like Carla getting pregnant Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

... and how embarrassing for Steve - imagine being a grown man and having to put up with a mother who dressed like that - she's a grandmother fer gawd's sake!

..and just so you don't all think I'm a prude - I think it's perfectly possible (and acceptable) to do 'sexy' in a tasteful way, even for women of her age.

Unfortunately the words 'tasteful', 'elegant', and 'discreet' do not appear in Liz's vocabulary.
