Since when has a character being dead meant they can't change history? We know how much all soaps do to fit the stuff they write. David Barlow isn't dead at all. They just pretended because he ran off with a sheep shearer called Bruce and Irma was humilated. LOL! Patsy

LOL!!! I never did like Irma....I couldn`t stand her voice. It made Chas Dingle from Emmerdale sound cultered and refined in comparison.

Didn't they change her name from Freda to Irma?
Doesn't Cheryl Murray have MS? Haven't heard about her for a long time now. I think she was in something a few years ago. May be too bad to act now.

I saw her in something about 2 years ago and she didn't look to good in that...i can't remember what it was now.....
I suppose whoever they brought back could have gone to Bessie Street School just to fit in with the plot really

The Imdb is no help whatsoever.
Yes. Anyone will do. Maybe it could be an anniversary of Bessie Street. 100 years or something.

It was in the paper after her last stint. I can't remember exactly when. Mid-80s sometime.

I was thinking about the 50th the other day - id love to see Mavis and Hilda return. Its silly that Mave especially doesnt return as she was so close to Reet! Obviously Thelma doesnt want to return which is a shame.

I was never a big fan of Mavis, but I would love to see her return....even if just for a few weeks. Corrie bosses shot themselves in the foot when they killed off Ray Langton. He would have been an excellent addition to the cast in the run up to Corries 50th. What about the actor who played Jed Stone? Is he still alive? Kenneth Cope?

Kenneth Cope is still alive..he was in Brookside for awhile in it's later years...there would only be Ken and Emily who remember Jed

Oh I thought Mavis was fab - they definately need a Reet and Mave reunion.
They could also bring back Eddie Yeats.

He said it was crap. Although Bruno Langley did tell me at Dimensions he'd never go back and did so stranger things happen. LOL!

With such a milestone as Corries 50th, it would be quite churlish to nix a return/reunion. After all it was Corrie that made them the stars that they were

Well I got my wish - sort of. From DS and the poster got it fromthe ITV site... I`d prefer to see Kenneth Cope come back as Jed Stone though. Looks like ITV has knocked that idea of mine on the head

Unless he's Jed Stone in disguise. After all, it doesn't say he ISN'T Jed returned. Unless it's his twin brother Rolling. Patsy

I found this at CorrieBlog I can`t help but wonder if Kim C reads this forum...seems a bit of a coincidence doesn`t it. It`s a bit too early to say, but KC could be an asset to the show if she continues the way she`s going with Corrie history.

It was Kieran Roberts who pushed the older characters out in favour of the younger. Tony Wood brought them to the fore again but they still got stupid storylines and writing bar Blanche and Ken. Steve Frost did wonders in Emmerdale with the older characters but with Kieran as his boss perhaps he had no choice but to push them out again.
Jed Stone after all, huh? I may have a look at that. I liked Sunny Jim in those few 60s eps I've seen.
